Molten Alliance Mining Pick is Masterwork Quality.
Bone Pick is Rare Quality.

The difference in quality is just aesthetic, right? I mean they have the exact same chance of getting rare quality mats from the same node, correct?

I was wondering this as well considering it is the same price I paid for the Molten Alliance Mining Pick I have.

I think some people are not going to read carefully and then get pretty mad. Also I cant see spending money on the downgraded model. :/

I think its a quick fix to solve the molten pick animation error a few weeks back,green mining pick lava animation, yellow pick oil animation. Well thats what i think tho i could be wrong.

If both models are exactly the same save for appearance and animation effect, just upgrade the former three infinite tools to rare, or downgrade the bone pick to masterwork. Simple solution. :o

I would love to drop money on this but my necro the character i want it for has already gotten the molten alliance pick. Cant see myself Destroying 30 gold to spend 30 gold on something i already bought for 5 other characters. Would be nice to have an option to update the skin i already own or a way to move this Molten pick to another toon and by this bone one for my necro. Can we Unsoulbound the Pics/Axes/Harvesters if you are gonna be releasing a new skin/animation for it every 6 months. Would be so nice to use this on my necro as i said but already purchased 5 moltens the last time round!

Update for new patch – the three infinite tools were updated to match the bone pick’s rare. Arenanet were probably planning on doing this anyway, but I can pretend they totally listened to my suggestion and implemented it.

I wonder what about the Black Lion Harvesting tools, that were Rare item quality in theory, but actually the same quality with far fewer uses than the regular tools
