Hi guys,

I want buy Digital Deluxe Upgrade for Mistfire Wolf but not sure if it is worth the gems. I also have some questions about it. If anyone can help, I’d appreciate a lot.

1) Can I unlock the skill on my Lv80 character? I’ve read it on some forum that you cannot unlock it on characters before the upgrade, but only new characters after the upgrade. Maybe an AN staff can answer this one. Is that true?

2) Is it worth the gems? I have a norn guardian which I rarely use an elite skill with. They are all useless. Is this Mistfire Wolf worth using? I’ve never seen it in game so maybe people don’t find it usefull. Any opinions?

3) How good/bad is it in PvP/WvW?

I bought it when i was lvl 50 on my main character. and i have no problem whatsoever in using it. ocourse i cant say anything for lvl 80 bt i cant see why you shouldnt be able to use it.
I bought it mainly to support Anet developing sutch a awsome game, and for rytlock. but sololey buying it for the elit skill? no. not worth it. Its not a very usefull skill, except for the fact that you look and feel awsome.( this is my opinion) and i only use it on my ranger because i feel it fits in his theme ( norn ranger) however on my elementalist i don’t see it to fit the theme , so I just roll the normal elites.

I dont know how well it is in pvp ( i doubt you can use it in spvp) and all summons pretty much useless in wvw because they are to vulnerable they also tend to have a bad Cd.

for me it was worth it because of the combination of things you received and the knowing of that i support Anet. ( I also like the feeling of having everything in the game) but i bought it when gems were super cheap.
If you know someone with it, ask them if you could give it a try.

2000 gems for a wolf elite? That’s like.. 25$ isn’t it? Well it better be able to take Stonemist Castle all by itself! Otherwise it’s so not worth it..

You could exchange in game gold for Gems to buy it, only 150 Gold!

I found the mistfire wolf helpful for leveling my lowbie mesmer in PvE as the damage on mesmer at low levels is pretty poor and the wolf will take agro off me. As for the price I cant really say if it’s worth it, that’s up to you. The wolf is pretty cool looking but doesn’t have any utility use other than for leveling lowbie chars if you’re struggling due to the very long cooldown. I very much like mine, I remember when I got my 1st character to 30, slotting that badboy in and having a ‘squee!’ moment, screenshotting it and running around with it like I was top kitten!

Meh, I found the bonuses to be pretty weak, but I really wasn’t expecting anything too great, I mostly bought it to support the game

It’s alright, somewhat similar to summon balthazars hounds. Honestly though I wouldn’t say its entirely worth it. I got it only because I got the entire collector’s edition.

Well i have an norn guardian and i know wut you mean but it prolly depends on your build, while my guardian mainly focuses on heal its pretty good help cause its power only depends on your lv, but if you are more damaging focused than a norn elite skill would do it too
so up to you and it maby would fit in your playingstyle if u like use spirit weapons :D

p.s. they should make it useable underwater : l

The big advantage to the Mistfire Wolf is that it’s available for low-level toons as soon as they unlock the elite skill slot and without spending 10 skill points. I did not find it helpful for my low level mesmer except as distraction during a losing battle — summon the wolf and you are able to run away, because it holds aggro ok for just long enough.

I wouldn’t spend US$25 to get it (in gems or coin-equivalent), but I’m happy to have it just the same.

(If you have 2000 gems, spend it on another toon, expanding your bank, or something else that will be helpful to you long into the future.)

same here i bought it to support the game, its pretty and like the other poster in this thread it did help me a couple times levelling up on Mesmer, but is it worth it for the skill? probobly not. I actually think it would be nice if they gave those who upgraded random goodies every now and then. Like give us a couple black lion keys in the mail once a month or so, things along that line. Nothing too broken that would cause a bunch of Q_Q, kind of like being a member at a casino lol, get some free buffets every now and then maybe offer discounts to upgraded accounts on certain items, similar to the way playstation plus works. just a couple of ideas, but back to the original topic, the wolf looks cool, haven’t used him in WvW but he does decent damage in PVE, i wish he stayed out longer, but its all good.

Thanks for all the input again guys. I guess I’ll buy a heavy armor skin and some bag/bank space upgrades instead with my hard earned gems ^^.

Nope. Digital Deluxe is not worth it at all.
