I have seen several other people with this problem. I have been getting the permanent harvesting tools on one character each time they are available. First my guard, then my necro. I would really like to get the new bone mining pick, but I would like it on my necro and it doesn’t make any sense on any of my other characters. I am not going to buy my necro a mining pick when she already has one and they are fairly expensive.

Can you please change this. One possibility is to give us a way to move the weapons from one character to another. Maybe having to use a transmutation stone, or on a daily or weekly cool down so people can’t abuse the ability to move them. Another option would be to allow us to change the skin of our mining picks as we feel like it.

If this can’t be done I see no reason to spend real money on an item that doesn’t fit any of my characters and you have just lost out on $10 from myself and probably other people.

Feel the same way would love it on my necro but i have 5 moltens on 5 of my 6 characters. I would love to buy this one and put it on my necro and move my molten to my newly created toon. Then i would buy this one. This soul bound on things like Mining Tools is kinda a pain. would be nice to use tools amongst my toons. when i use my hammer or shovel at home it isnt soulbound to me i can still loan it out to my neighbors.. let me loan my tools GEEZE!

Yeah it was really bad thinking. I think honestly it may just be too soon for them to try to put out new animations. I have no desire to throw out 10 bucks and then have a useless molten pick sitting in my bank. Maybe if they were further apart and I wanted something new.. but I have only had the pick for a few months.
Maybe they can offer us something cheaper to change the animation? Idk but the cost to just change animation from molten if you have one to bone is too high imo.

Leave them soulbound until you replace it with a new version of the same tool, then the old one becomes account bound until it is used again. I used purchased gem cards —ie real $$ to get these tools and now to buy them again--geez—not well thought out. Anything you buy with real money shouldn’t be rendered ‘virtually’ useless. It is quite the ripoff scheme they got going.

Basically what I and others have said—-can’t see any reason why it wasn’t done other the accountants from NC told them ’mo money NOW!

They really should be account bound. I got the old one on my necromancer and now I’d love to move it to my elementalist and buy the bone one for my main but since I’m not given the choice I guess I’ll be keeping my gems.

Yep—I got gems from my last card purchase—-it may likely be my last purchase.
So yes you are right.
The only thing missing from the equation is there are too many that will buy them and don’t care /or missed the last perm pick. Look at the Black Lion Keys—such a waste of money—but those with the cash don’t care and those that just don’t know how bad a deal the keys are still buy them like crazy.
