Is the fact that in order to get the 10 deal, you have to spend 20 bucks. Not only that, but if you do, you have a good chance of getting just in game mats only. Not tonics, not boosters, not picks or something else on the gem market, but just regular mats that you can just farm at southshore now, or buy on the tp for silver.
This was just bad.

Agreed, bought 70 and got 1 pet, and a ton of crafting materials, when all i wanted was the weapon ticket, piece of garbage chest, not falling for it again in the future.

I absolutely love the new weapon skins, and if they were in the gem store right now for purchase I would be buying at least 6 of the skins right now! But being they are stuck in a RNG chest, and my RNG has been terrible at best since launch I will not be wasting my money or gold on them and encourage everyone else to do the same.

I got lucky with my first 10 chests. Got a ticket and a mini Faren. Tried an another 20 $ shot and had only crappy mats. They are so pricy !

Really ? They should have done the same as Fused Ticket in BLC. At least in BLC, you could get boosters, makeover kit, backpacks, etc. Now ? Just materials and one time use consortium crafting and mystic toilet (ONE TIME USE).

I’m surprised to see that, so far, I’m the only one with a Sclerite weapon skin. Not like Fused skins that seem to have higher chances.

Just don’t waste more money.

It’s really no different than BLTC in terms of the likelihood of getting anything of value. I have somewhere near 500 BLTC’s in the bank as there is no incentive to spend money on keys. It’s like gambling in vegas. Some will win; chances are it won’t be you. And, like gambling generally, it’s not a good use of money.

I learnt, LONG LONG LONG ago (since halloween) that anything to do with RNG gem chest, stay away!!! Just give up on the weapon skin, it’s not worth your money. If enough people realise this, maybe Anet will finally realize they can’t get away with lazy design in order to reap profits off supporting players.

Because of people like this it will never change. Why give a weapon skin or a mini to someone for 400 gems when you can give them a small chance at a weapon skin and people will spend 8400 gems trying to get it

8400/400 = 21 people would need to buy the skin for every 1 person like Graka that gambles.

More people liked the fused skins, and so more people gambled hard to get them. The sclerite weapons have seen a so-so reaction, and thus fewer people are seeking them.

Every monthly “content” release is merely a psychology experiment on which mental buttons need to be pushed to get the addicts to hit the gem store. Companies gotta make money, but you aren’t dealing with Disney or a traditional entertainment company. Just compare the evolution of the things that have been offered in the gem store, compare the text and tactics that are being used (ex. 4 days only!), look at the “package” sizes (like OP noted). It’s more like a tobacco company slowly tweaking their recipes to really sink the hooks in.

I hate it and I just say no.

I’m very curious if there are skins that were made and never made it into the game because of the ridiculously low drop rate coupled with limited time RNG chests.

Never seen a better write up on the issue than there.

Basically, it doesn’t matter if the skin is so-so, or if there’s only mats in the box. There shouldn’t be a box at all.

Mind you, I have 3 fused skins. Foostivoo the merry. You name it. I’m fortunate enough to have money to spare, and was pretty “lucky” as well with those fused skins (80 chests or so for all 3). But you know what? I’m actually still more happy with my Wintersday skins. Not only do they look very good, I don’t feel dirty when wearing them.

I got two chests in the first two days straight from mobs.

The first one gave me the naked chick (it was selling at 40g at the time)

The second one gave me a token and I bought the hammer with it
