Guild Wars 2

As the title says, what would you think about an item that upon use changed your name?
I think it’d be a good idea, especially considering how they’ve made the friend list and guilds act (guilds & friends are through account, and not every character). The items would have a cooldown of 2 weeks or a month to prevent spam, or make the cost high.

Please consider also race change maybe.

Let them get the game off the ground. Once they have, these options will most likely become available, as they did in Guild Wars.

I doubt they’ll put in race change any time remotely soon as it could cause havoc with the personal story (they’ve talked a bit here about being unable to “roll back” personal story on a character with a bugged story because of the potential for further bugs).

That said I would also like to see a makeover in the trading post, including changing race (or class? 8D) if it wasn’t too hard to work out all the logistics for it.

If they did something like: You can only change race after finishing your personal story, that wouldn’t be a problem… I think (I’m not done with the Main Story yet, so I can’t know).

One thing regarding story I’d be okay with, would be simply reverting the entire story to that of a level 1 of that race, starting you over from the start of the story. Also removing any storyline behind the other race that you were before, effectively making you a “new” character story line wise which should also iron out bugs between it.

I’d love a name-change option! Please!

The sooner, the better.
I realise of course that they’ve got their plate pretty full these days, but names tend to stick and I’d like to change some of mine before they do. Let’s just say that during the rush to log on at release, some of my character names could’ve needed further reflection. :p

As for race change, what XDeadzX posted above me (reset personal story to level 1) sounds like a reasonable solution. I guess you’d technically get a shot at double story XP and story rewards by resetting your race, but to be fair that’s hardly worth much – and even if it’s deemed too valuable, disabling rewards up until the level where race was changed would be fine (albeit would possibly take some extra work to set up).
