New accounts seems to have restrictions when it comes to trading:
- can’t buy stuff on the TP but you can sell
- can’t trade in gold for gems
- can’t receive mails or mails with items in it

Those restrictions make sense but the game doesn’t tell you why you can’t for example buy stuff from the TP you’ll only get a “order did not match current listings”-message
I think there should be a clear message that tells your that your account can’t do certain things for 24h(?)

I don’t think these are new. A new account for example, can’t put money in a guild bank or transfer gold (over a certain value) to another player via mail until, I think, the account is 30 days old. That has always been there, so I would assume these other restrictions have been there too.

You missed the point entirely, he’s not saying that these restrictions are new at all, he’s saying the fact that they exist should be explained to new players.

Ah okay fair enough. I saw this “New accounts seems to have restrictions when it comes to trading:” ad took that for questioning rather than a statement.

I agree – the restrictions gradually taper off, but when My son and I first started playing it was frustrating that it wasn’t communicated more clearly. We thought the game was bugged.

I hadda jump on the forums and search to find out what was going on. At that point, I totally got it, but was on the verge of shelving the product for a minute.

It’d be interesting to see GW2’s “first-7-days” attrition rate and know whether they were related to new account restrictions.
