Q:
New Wardrobe System & Duplicate Legendaries?
I’m also curious about this, having two Incinerators on my main. I made the second just two or three months ago and had I known this was in the pipeline I definitely would have made something different.

Probably not even if you put the skin of the legendary on another item it wont have the stats of a legendary (unless it was an ascended) and you wont be able to change stats on it when out of combat…that’s my guess at least.
Edit: I forgot to add this, also legendary’s also were promised to always be the best in slot items in the game, so there’s still that too. If another higher stat item then ascended comes around legendaries will still be the best.

For the price of a single legendary you could have gotten 3 ascended weapons of that type + a lifetime supply of transmutations. So anyone who made more than one legendary type (e.g. Dual Incinerators) is …….. wait for it …………. <now guess the word here>
This is why the wardrobe was delayed for so long, I’m amazed it’s finally seeing the light if day.
I’d hate to be the support crew right now, but, like another user stated, you’ll get to keep the legendary stats and the ability to stat change on both.
When you apply just the skin you won’t have that ability.
So think of it this way, you’ve worked and spent money for the stats and ability to change them, useless? Kinda, but so is a skin that looks like circus and serves nothing but bragging rights.
If you have a legendary, you have the interchangeable stats. So that is what you worked for. If you only made one and then skinned a ore weapons with the legendary to get the dual wield look then you would only have one with interchangeable stats.

Yes, but, most people who dual-wield matching legendaries did it for the skins, not the stat changing. Saying that the reason we made 2500g weapons was for the changeable stats is disingenuous, when one could make dozens of ascended weapons in different stat combinations at less cost.
I believe you’ll only be able to use a legendary skin once. As in have it active only once – on one item. That would solve the issue neatly.

^^ what you are saying here contradicts exactly what was announced by the ANet team.
ALL skins are now unlimited use account bound.
