Because we can’t be angry about both?

No thanks, then.
And that’s why I feel that giving the Watchwork Pick an innate bonus was a mistake. Now that the precedent has been set, players will be watching to see if the tool has extra goodies before deciding whether or not to purchase. It’s now an additional factor people will take into consideration before buying; ANet essentially hamstrung their own sales because people see the “normal” unlimited tools as no longer worth buying when there’s the possibility something better will come along in the future.
Which is why I was surprised that the Watchwork Pick even came back. Having it as a one time blip is one thing, having it as a reoccurring phenomenon simply causes other unlimited picks sales to be suppressed except for players who don’t know it’s coming.

This is exactly the position i’m in. I don’t want to buy a tool one week and find out the next that a better one is available for the same price.
I figure they have three options – make the price of the watchwork pick higher than the standard unlimited tools, or make it clear when tools might appear in the store, or remove the added bonus of the watchwork pick (as they are clearly not removing it from rotation in the store).
I only ever plan on buying one set of unlimited tools, and I’d rather do that when either:
1) I know that I’m getting the best tool that is going to be available
2) I know that if better tools are introduced, I can upgrade mine in some way (additional gems/gold/crafting, whatever) to match the functionality of the better tool.
