Not happy about Springtime Minis
This is why all minis(except HoM) need to be trade-able. Is there a reason why the minis need to be account bound?
Yes I missed one too for vacation.
In a way it’s sort of a relief: I’ve been keeping up and buying each cash shop mini as they’ve come out trying not to miss one. But if I’ve missed one, I’ve missed them all! So buying more after this point feels like a waste.
In the end, I’d suggest OP and others to do as I did and abandon the wallet-bleeding upkeep of being a mini collector.

I’ve always hated minis, and I’m glad I do. In GW1 I hated getting them because I’d throw them on a mule and forget they exist. Thankfully I can chuck the ones I do get into the bank and forget they exist in GW2. My wallet appreciates my callousness.
Try logging in or reading the patch notes. Waiting for gem prices to go up a little before I shell out my golds for the mini moa.
I can’t farm CoF fast enough to be able to afford the mini’s in time- the one I wanted is gone because gem prices are so high & I couldn’t meet the demand of converting lol

Look up the investment an infamous korean RNG/Ripoff RPG company made in Anet/NCSoft, and who they, in exchange for putting up the money, sent over as a “monetization manager” to run this stuff in GW2, and you will know why. Let the game sink due to changes that need to be made, as long as they wring as much cash out of people as they can while it happens.

400 gems is about 13 gold. While I can understand that this may be more than some people have available to convert to gems, you have 7 days to make enough gold to buy it. This should not be a problem if you are willing to put in the effort to obtain something you truly desire.

Or, $5 in real money. If someone really wants it and doesn’t have gold they can cut out sodas or beer for a few days and afford it.
Really though there are going to be SOOO many limited run items over the years. The whole “I need to have this because I will never get a chance again” mentality is what they are preying on. You don’t actually need it all. You don’t need any of it. And you are wasting your money. When everything is made limited release to make it seem special, nothing is really special anymore. It was ok when 2-3 times a year a special item would come out and you absolutely HAD to have it. But now almost every item is like that.
SAB skins: had to have.
Sentinel’s insigs: had to have.
Jetpack: had to have.
Spring minis: had to have.
Molten Pick: had to have.
You get my drift? And to make matters even worse, they are adding RNG to the mess, so you likely will pay for something and not get it anyways. You are all just wasting your money! Smarten the kitten up!

@Curo:
While I admit I have purchased a few of the limited time offers recently, I haven’t gone completely overboard and purchased every gem store offering with a limited window of purchasing opportunity (and I have never been tempted by the RNG lottery boxes).
I don’t personally mind limited time offers as I’m able to make my purchasing decisions based on whether the item or service is one I truly desire. In some ways, having a limit on the availability of items will help me reach a decision in a more timely fashion. For instance, I’m still undecided about purchasing the quiver skin for my ranger, but once the “countdown” begins for its removal from the store, I will be induced into making a decision one way or the other about spending gems on it.
Yep, I gave up trying to play this game as a completionist. I ignore a lot of the limited time stuff in the cash shop including minis. I think the market pressure to buy something now is just abysmal.
I do buy thinks like the mining pick, or some skins I like (the short bow and quiver come to mind) but I’m not interested in trying to keep up with everything that can be put in the cash shop anymore.
The same thing happened to me in Guild Wars 1. I used to buy every costume that came out until I realized I had more costumes than characters. lol
