Like many other people, I like crafting and one of my goals is to get all my crafting skills maxed out and learn all the recipes.

But there is a problem with this…I need materials for my crafts.

Now, I know some people will say go farm the materials. Problem with this is, it will take forever to get the materials needed. The solution to this problem is buying the materials from the Trading Post. This is all fine and dandy, but this leads to another problem.

THE TRADING POST IS DOWN MORE THAN IT’S UP.

Now, where that is a problem, it leads to a bigger problem which is lack of information and communication. Anyone in the customer service area knows that people don’t like to be kept in the dark.

The solution to help keep people from getting angry is to keep them informed and provide updates on a regular basis, on the official forums.

or….better yet.

Get the system working.

I personally haven’t had the Trading Post down for too long in the past week or so. Sure, it’s frustrating not to be able to buy stacks of materials right now, but it’s not like the game end anytime soon. The Trading Post may be down for any number of reasons.

Just because they’re not giving us a blow by blow account of what’s happening doesn’t mean that they’ve shut us out of it. They’ll probably release information about what they fixed AFTER they’re sure they’ve fixed it.

While you’re waiting for the Trading Post to get back up, you can do something besides crafting or ask other people to give/trade/sell you materials. Best place to start with is your guild. My guildies and I have an informal swapping system where we pass around materials we don’t need or we’re “done” with. Nobody “owes” anybody anything, and if we make something good we pass it along.

Thus, if I have a stack of wood I can’t use, and my friend has a stack of ore, we swap and we’re both happy WITHOUT the Trading Post.

Just sayin’.
