Title says it all. Will the prices of theses items stay the way they are? I make most of my money by farming theses things. Ancient wood wouldnt bother me before ( 64 c or something for 1) but now its really nice to sell. And since inflation with gold to gems is getting higher its seems a lil more accepetable for me to buy gems with these prices. Since else i dont think i will be able to buy gems anymore.

(And yea i still need gems for bank upgrades and char slots. So i kinda feel riped off since those things are getting more expensive and all because i didnt needed them earlier. Thats something thats bothers me aswell. )

alright. first off: we dont know for sure how any price will develop.
they depend on many factors.
all we can do is to make some educated guesses which may come true or not.
it seems likely that the prices youre speaking of had their peak and will slowly go down again over the next week or two.
but as long as people want to boost their crafting skills and want to craft ascendend weapons theyll remain on a relatively high level.
theyll probably wont return to their pre september value in the foreseeable future.
so you should still be able to make a good amount of gold by doing your farming runs.
and no. you havent been ripped off. gems are expensive but thats just how a market works.
btw if you are in dire need of bank space you can always found your own guild and get a vault.
if im not mistaken that would cost you 5g to buy the guild influence you need and takes about 4 days of research. in return youll get 50 slots of bank space that you can use for any items that arent bound to you or your account.

I made a 450g the other evening selling some of my hoarded stacks of ori ingots and ancient planks, All stuff I harvested and salvaged over quite a few months.

I am happy all those harvesting runs have finally paid off, but I suspect prices will go down once the rush to be the ’first’’ to craft ascended items tails off. Someone has already done a greatsword, so this might happen sooner than later.

My advice is to enjoy selling while you can.

The actual ascended stuff does not take too many of the t6 basic mats. The spike is related to the need to level up crafting and the need to discover or re-discover exotics. I’d short ancient wood if I could. Ori didn’t spike quite as sharply and there’s still the possibility for jeweler 500, so that may see some sustained elevation in price. There are TONS more people running around gathering now though, so we’ll see.

And i mean ripped of with gems cuz everyone before me had the ability to buy maybe 2 slots for the price i pay now. I understand that the gems are something unstable but still making the items that are kinda “needed” after a certain period of playing stable in prices. The fun and covienient items okay those will get more expensive but everyone will need those slots once and in my opinion its kinda unfair that the ones who came first had it all xtra cheap. Treat us the same.

Oh and i hope that peeps will continue making acended, its kinda the new end game stuff so i hope that those prices wont drop back to the old prices

But its such a easy item to make. If it wasnt time gated,. it would take 1 day to make and if you are rich, a few hours. When you look at the material breakdowns in a nice chart, you’ll be like “wow, that’s super easy to make”.

When are you all going to figure out that the “material breakdowns” for ascended gear is not why orich ingots, elder and ancient wood, or ecto glob prices are high…..it is the costs of the huge amount of materials needed to craft to 500 that is causing these prices to be as high as they are?

You need a ton of t6 mats to craft the exotics to get to 500. Once at 500 you don’t need them nearly as much. We’ll also have more supply inc with people salvaging every blue/green for account MF (this will take far longer to cap). The prices will drop but it’ll take a while.

Approximate estimate:

100.000 × 100 O.Ingots = 10.000.000
100.000 × 250 A. wood p. = 25.000.000
100.000 × 150 Glob of E. = 15.000.000

And when 100.000 weapons done, they will need infusions:

50.000 × 100 v. claws = 5.000.000
50.000 × 100 v. of p. blood = 5.000.000
100.000 × 500 passion fruit = 50.000.000

Sometimes it s simple because it s only economy :-)

For wood maybe. Don’t forget ascended armor crafting is coming as well.

The Numbers don t show the exact Demand of the economy.

I only want to reveal how huge the numbers are.

example passion fruit:

I don t know how many weapons will be crafted the next month. Could be 100.000 / 200000/ 400000 ?
I don t know how many people will use Infusion with agony. Perhaps 1/3 will use Wvw infusions, 1/3 nothing.
I don t know how many people have stacks @bank. Some need 0, some need 500 of them.

But it s not important to know the exact demand, because the numbers are so high.

10.000.000 / 30.000.000 / 70.000.000 passion fruit? @ BlcT 160.000.
5.000.000 / 10.000.000 / 30.000.000 Orichalcum Ingots? @ BlcT 20.000.

In my opinion the prices stay high for quiet a while.
But perhaps i m wrong.

Not just gossamer, but all the mid-level fabrics and leather.

I suspect the ascended armour crafting will follow the same pattern as for the weapons. You will probably need quantities of mid-level mats in the crafting process.

For example, look at the current price jump of some of the mid-level ingots and planks. The same will happen for fabrics and leather, but even more so because they can only be acquired through salvage or loot bags. There are no nodes you can harvest for these mats.

Yea those are a pain in the rump to get. I’ve already stocked up on all of them. Thankfully I can get started on the leather stuffs via huntsman in prep for it (one of the reasons I chose huntsman to get to 500 first).
