I’d say no to this but I suppose I’m prejudice as I have two of those items and I had to farm the gold to buy them, that being said 2000gems turns into 128.6~g currently or if going in the other direction 178~g turns into 2000gems, either way for all of these items it would reduce their value/price.

Permanent Bank/TP/Merch are all still available from Black Lion Chests, as far as I’m aware. the Hair Stylist was only available during Wintersday 2012, which is why there are none on the trading post and the offers are so high.

Even though the 4 items for the recipe are still available on the tp, the recipes was disabled donks ago.

If I could either have all the legendaries, or the perma hair contract …. I’d choose the hair.

They need to reintroduce the permanent hair style contract at least. 2500g buy order and none available is just absurd when compared to the other permanent items.

You realize you are basically shooting yourself in the foot by telling Anet you are happy to pay a ton for digital items?

How about demand that Anet supply us with affordable and fairly priced items across the cash shop.

You do realize, I hope, that there are many, many, many different strategies and marketing models that will make enough cash for Anet to run this game, don’t you?

I also don’t get the whole fixation on “trophy” status items, especially from the cash shop.
Having a “trophy” that all you had to do was drop money on, is not much of a trophy. The only thing you are proving is that you have money to burn. Woooo, good for you.

If you want to really show off, earn your shoulders (like how WoW epic shoulders used to mean something a number of seasons ago in PvP).

Even with that said, it’s a game so what does it really matter if the gear you have “means more” in some artificial abstract way than the gear someone else has.
I personally think the ascended gear looks like junk (and I know I’m not alone in thinking that), so I don’t even notice people who are wearing it. If I don’t notice, or if I’m not impressed by what they are wearing, then what kind of trophy is it really?

Again, it’s a game and we should ultimately all be able to wear what looks good to us without arbitrary limits and boundaries being placed on the potential skins we might wish to collect.

You already can get them for gems… Just trade them for gold and buy the stuff… Although that would spoil your plan of trying to get these way underpriced at 2k gems…
