When these dye packs are no longer available for purchase here in a few days, do you think that mark the end of these dye colors being added into the world forever or will they be reintroduced in another way? In other words, will this commodity be limited to only what is purchased prior to their phase-out? What do you think that will do to the price of these already highly valued dyes? (and dyes are one thing that most everyone wants and is willing to spend a fair amount of gold on)

I’m fairly sure they will be unobtainable aside from through buying previously recieved dyes from the TP and of course its going to spike, drop, then plateau and stay stable there like the rest of the limited time content has so far. As for how much more expensive they will get than they already are, I have no way of telling that. But if you plan on buying I can only figure the prices are going to keep going up for a little bit.

Edit: several of them jumped significantly in price (30-100%) yesterday so I’m assuming more people are realizing they’re about to be taken out and are trying to invest in them before they get too horribly priced.

I invested over 100g in buying myself some of the dyes and buying the same ones for future investment opportunities. I think we will see these have a much higher price platau then most of the limited skins for a couple reasons.

1. They are unlimited. Dyes can be applied forever once you unlock them.
2. They can be applied to any armor. They aren’t limited to certain classes or looks, they can be applied to anything.
3. VERY limited. Even the rarest skins have 100+ on the trading post. Most of these dyes only have 1 or 2 dozen on the TP currently, they were hard to get and cost a crap ton of gems to even attempt to get them.

For these reasons alone I think these dyes continually rise in price. The limit will be how much people like them on different armor sets. I expect them to at least double or triple in price, but they may rise more. Sell price doesn’t mean much other then people are stocking up, it is much more important to watch the buy order prices to get an idea of what is going to happen.

4. People who wish to keep their dye sets on their main complete. These are generally collectors and already fairly wealthy people who will have no real issue buying these up at a higher price.

Prices are starting to rise since they are no longer available. I’d buy the cheaper ones for your collections now before they rise as well. The extra detail and definition from these dyes is noticeable, I hope they add more dyes in the future, I think southsun themed dyes could be really nice.

I would speculate that when the molten alliance returns in future living story events.. so will the fused weapon tickets, flame & frost dyes, and molten pick with new goodies.

Just like they will reuse the holiday events and resell the skins during the holiday. I doubt they will make anything that limited that can only be acquired once in the whole lifespan of the game.
