Orders for items should be placed at a 1% higher price than the current highest offer. Maybe even more than 1%.

It really gets annoying when for high price items, you get out bidded by 1 copper. It just becomes a game when you keep retracting your bids and outbidding by 1 copper again.

If the gap was 1%, you would still be playing the same game; you’d just be losing more money playing it.

If it bothers you a lot, one way to reduce this aspect of the game would be to transfer some of the transaction fees onto the buyers, instead of just having them on the seller – perhaps 5% listing fees on both buy and sell orders while reducing the sales tax to 5%.

Offer a reasonable price to begin with and wait. Offering 1c over the highest bid is not the best way to get your item.

If you are trying to max your Nickel and Diming you can expect to be Nickel and Dimed back.
