With the new patch making dyes account wide unlocks, do you think the prices of identified dyes will increase or decrease?

The reason I’m asking is now that it will be account wide unlocked, I want to purchase the Abyss Dye. Will it be cheaper to buy now or right after the patch?

Likely after. If people get piles on unidents from alts copies, they’ll likely open to collect their missing ones. Those that land an Abyss might decide to sell so the price may drop. But I wouldn’t expect to go down a lot. Maybe dip to 20g but I can’t see Abyss or Celestial any cheaper than this.

Dont forget the huge amounts of dyes being promoted in the mystic forge, once all common and uncommon dyes tanked in price.

Blue/green dyes will crash and crash hard.

Very rare dyes like abyss and celestial may actually stand to increase in price slowly over time.

Slightly in the short-medium term, but it will fall in the long-term once players unlock it on their account and have no further need to buy more. Blue/Green dyes will crash hard, but they won’t become completely worthless due to what Wanze mentioned about gamblers buying them up to throw them into the Forge. (Same way that “worthless” Major runes/sigils don’t completely crash either.)
