My guess is there has been a recent monopolise attempt. I know someone hit Colossus (which has now recovered) and I’m pretty sure Spark was another victim. Seems likely Zap is a 3rd. This would also explain the “abnormal” price – being more costly than Dusk.

If we could have anet through some more precursors into the world to balance out the prices that would be nice. Or announce crafted precursors so they drop

Seems like more people are going for legendaries causing the price of t6 mats to increase. Rare prices are increasing to so the cost of mystic forge attempts for precursors are higher. The price of the gift of fortune has doubled since the last time I made a legendary.

This is just getting out of hand, personally i have been going for incinerator and the rise of spark has actually put me off making it. Spark was only 400g a little while ago and now its over 1.1k…Anet really needs to get onto this. Solution is simple. Anyone remember Ancient karka event? loads of people got precursors from that so maybe do another event like that, just a thought which could generate more pre’s into the market and possibly reduce the price.
To farm that amount of gold for what is in reality 25% of your legendary is ridiculous.

edit If an event such as the karka one was done again don’t make it a one time thing, sooo many people missed out (including myself). Instead have an event that runs for a week or so with a chest at the end that will only appear once for you and not again if you do the event so people cant just do it multiple times until they get the precursor they want.

Since they didn’t put character slots on sale in march I decided to use my 2nd gift of mastery up and bought energizer for 163g, it then jumped +50g. I had about 100g left and over a few days since the 31st have made all the gifts and upgraded around 7-800 t6 and need about 50 of each and a stack of ecto to complete my moot. I had around 250g to do all this and only run 2 AC and 2 CoF and 2-4 temples max per daily cycle(some would call that casual).

The only real problems IMO are precursor RNG, even upgrade RNG is fine as it is.

Spent ~5000g for the 5 legendaries I have. Current value = 9000g.

Yeah, just like how loot chests, daily chests and enemy kills apparently have a ‘chance’ to drop a precursor. Haha… it’s 0%.

I have 3500 hours logged, extensive farming, dungeon speed running, wvw zerg busting, world bosses. Nothing. Out of my 4 legendaries, I got one precursor from the forge.

If you’re expecting the pvp rewards to give you a precursor, ever, you’re simply dreaming!

I have been playing at edge of the mists 2 days ago and our zerg flipped a kodan shieldbearer mob. It dropped a zap for me. Crazy stuff happens. Playing for 9 months, this was a second precursor I grasped. (First one, dusk, bought on TP for 680g buy order approx. a month ago).

Yea you don’t think it has anything to do with the fact that Anet said precursor crafting was not coming, and they have no ETA on it due to they don’t know how to introduce it, because apparently the reward system is so fantastic in game, it may actually drop a precursor.

Tier 6 materials such as ancient bone will rise just as the demand for legendaries rise as well. Since you need 8 full stacks of T6 mats in order to craft the legendary specific gifts.

The most popular type of legends with cool effects, like the hammer from juggernaut. and the most used type of weapons on classes like zap and spark are getting played by the market now. after the wardrobe patch they might lower down in costs. and the t6 that comes with it almost the same. like Scarlet’s kiss and unidentified dyes, there high at start but will eventually go back to their own prices ( with maybe a slight raise in price).

you can be mad, but not at the buyers, they just play the market. thats very normal compared to real economics.

more and more gold ingame from champfarming (now the champtrain is in eotm) so more and more people just buy precursor from TP and the Price is rising

inflation – simple

Not simple. In past months there have been many inflation causes, yet precursor/t6 price was steady. The tru problem is the feature patch anouncement. It both (between the lines) announces t6 farm nerf, champ loot nerf, and account bound legendaries at same time.

With that in mind, not only speculation but just players, taking precautions to be a step ahead of anets possible inc ‘legendary easyness of obtaining’-nerf. (t6, champ nerf).

And there you have it.

Every time they’ve increased t6 drop rates, they’ve also introduced another sink for them, so I have little hope of prices going anywhere but up even if they do make further changes.

Holy kitten , I was just about to buy Zap a few days ago, too.

I highly doubt that’s the case. Increase in interest of one handed legendary weapons because of wardrobe is the case here.

Infinite Light, Incinerator (Spark), and Bolt (Zap) are three best looking one handed weapons in the game. Thus in turn becoming increasingly desirable because of potential of using their skins for dual-wielding and across characters.

I personally gotten Spark right before it shot up to make my Incinerator, solely because I didn’t see a reason to make it before just to have it in one hand. Which would diminish whatever awesome dagger I’d have in the other (Marjory’s Dagger).

Many people finally decided on making their legendaries now more than ever because of potential of using their skin on multiple alts they may have.

The price therefore shot up not because of somebody’s attempt in monopolizing those items, but because the supply was practically drained. When supply goes down and demand goes up, it’s only natural that the price goes up as well.

Colossus was also the case for many WvW veterans wanting to show off their Hammer-Wars and Hammer-Guards in on-going WvW Tournament. Noticed how supply went down right around the time the tournament was announced.

Dusk and Legend are just constantly on high demand as is, so there is no explanation needed for those two.

I’m only surprised that Tooth of Frostfang didn’t shoot up as much as the other ones did.
