So there’s a vendor in Lions Arch who trades Laurels for certain rewards.

For one Laurel, you can get a lot of items. One of these items is a bag which includes tier 1 crafting items. Another, is a bag which contains tier 6 crafting items…Why would anyone purchase the lower tier bag? I just spent money trying to see if there were some reason, and I guess you get more quantity from the lower tier bags, but this is far outweighed by the quality and value of the higher tier’s contents.

But forget those, because for 5 Laurels you can buy 10 unidentified dyes, which tot’ up to 2.5 Gold at least on the Trading Post. So, just by dyes, sell them, use the money to buy what you want as oppose to gambling by buying the bag, and then pocket the money you save.

I know it’s the economy’s fault, but kitten is it detrimental, from what I’ve seen, to not do it like this.

Thoughts?

it’s even cheaper to buy unid dyes, sell, then buy influence, than to buy influence directly from laurel vendor.
unid dyes are just too valuable on the TP.
unless you tie the laurel vendor amounts directly into the TP’s current price, there will always be one item that is a better deal than all the others. you just have to find it
(with commendations, it’s the sentinel’s inscription/insignia)

For 5 laurels you get 10 unidentified dyes or 15 t6 mats. I’m pretty sure that makes the crafting bags more valuable.
