I have accidentally noticed today something strange – there is apparently a number of masterwork level 20 glyphic weapons (common drops from metrica province), that are being bought at prices about 90+silver, and sold at 1-1.8g. There are multiple buy and sale orders at this price range. This is definitely not about skins, because the cheapest (level 80) weapons with the same skin can be bought at few silver.

Did i miss something? Are those weapons used in some recipes, or something?

Sometimes its just speculators flipping items to each other.

in his defense, they got discontinued to drop from the BL Chests, a while ago.

Maybe, but those bags dont even drop a fraction of the amount he was asking for.

Too much of scarce items + brainless players = ridiculous situations with price.

Basically if someone lists and item and no one else has bothered to list that item, just because its either not worth much or bad skin etc, they list it for 100g and just hope that someone buys it on accident. Worth a shot imo

they do lose a lot of gold listing a item.

I was savvy enough to buy some of my own, after the announcement that will not drop from the chests anymore, for 15-20s.
I wasnt the one though, that bought out the whole supply and listed at 100g but boy, are these bags demanded:

There is actually a food reason why those low-level weapons are so expensive. Actually, a combination of two reasons:

1) lots of people create alts and have the silver to spend gearing them up. Thus the high demand and acceptable high prices, combined with the fact that +power and +condition are the only useful stats early on

2) with blue weapons/armor, you are essentially just renting them. Because lots of people do this, the price can inflate and you’ll still be able to recoup high cost (assuming you buyat the bid price and sell at the ask)

Coincidentally, these reasons also mean volume is quite high, thus making these items excellent for flipping.

Overall i already sold 6 bags, making nearly 100g profit.

If people actually buy them at 1g to use them on their alt while leveling, they didnt look for crafted versions with the same stats that are available for a couple of silver. Granted, the crafted versions lack the minor rune but those can be bought for a couple of copper.

The first 4 or 5 bags that i sold didnt get relisted afterwards, so i think its the same guy.
