So, I was talking to magic 8-ball, and it suggested a little something.

People are about to bust tens of thousands (if not millions) of green items in the search for permanent Magic Find for their account – which is going to leave them with metric tones of the green runes/sigils. A little Mystic Forging later and we’ll see either heaps of extras being sold off or people leaving the market because they are meeting their own needs.

Either way, prices are gonna fall.

I know myself like many others are going to be doing this to greens. No idea with to do with sigils or runes, bulk a bunch of them for forge daily probably, others I’ll just forge right away. Maybe I’ll get 1 or 2 useful superiors out of them, but probably not even that. lol

Yes and no. The amount of forging will barely keep up with the amount of sigils and runes in newly crafted ascended items. I don’t think people will destroy their old weapons/armor for the sigils/runes, most will use new ones. And as the price of exotics will rise due to dark matter salvaging, so will the sigils and runes on them.

I would think in most cases after you craft an ascended weapon, the exotic you were using is going to get cracked to release the sigil in it (which then moves over to the ascended item) and in the hopes of getting more dark matter. I just don’t see the new tier as adding a huge demand beyond what we already see every time a person wants to try out a new build/new weapon. If anything Ascended weapons may slow that process down as now people may wait until their next ascended is ready to go in a week or two rather than setting up a new exotic today.

And thousands upon thousands of new green sigils/rune entering player hands aren’t just going to vanish (other than the ones that eventually forge up to monster specific damage sigils. Those I’d agree a re pretty much taken out of the gene pool as it were…).

The current upswing we’re seeing now is part easy money, part speculation on the actual value of the several reworked sets with Magic Find Gear shuffling off stage. I give it about a week to ten days for the new paradigm to take hold and the masses of green sigils/runes to start piling up .

Globs of dark matter are only found by salvaging exos… so people will indeed be salvaging their old weapons and more. Most sigils and runes will fall in price because of this imo.

Except that the exotics won’t be flowing much after the patch. No more gauntlet, no more coordinated wave killing, just people locking them up in an instance that produces… baubles. That are used for account bound skins. Which need a weapon. And a sigil.

I foresee many more updates in a two week interval with new wave farm spots. The invasions are supposed to stay but become less frequent, did I understand that correctly?

Makes you wonder if the indicator for it will stay or if we have to check a “dragontimer”.
Anyways – sorry, this goes a bit off topic.

I’ll definitely be going to play with the runes, flushing them down the toilet, but in the overall picture I’m not sure that lot’s will happen. Maybe they won’t go up in price as much (across the board).

Green runes and sigils were pretty worthless as it was. Not worth the price of cracking an item to get them.
