Q: Grenth hood returning in halloween event?
Wasn’t the grenth hood sold closer to Wintersday? Which makes no sense but I seem to remember it… If it doesn’t return for Halloween it might return later in the year or during another sale, a lot of items do so it should come back eventually.
I’m only here because sometimes I just like to watch things burn.
The Grenth hood was available alongside the Phantom’s hood on August 24th. Usually items that have limited availability won’t be available just a couple of months after the last time they were purchasable. It would be fair to expect the hood to be available around Christmas time.
It also makes perfect sense that the Grenth hood is usually available closer to wintersday. Grenth is the God associated with ice and eternal winter and is often “celebrated” around this time. I guess it would be easy to assume that he is more associated with Halloween, Grenth is a reaper/death-like figure which goes hand-in-hand with real life Halloween.
Seeing as they never fixed the charr problems. I hope not.

the grenth hood was available last wintersday, it is considered a wintersday item not a halloween item. chances are it’ll be available again during the wintersday period though, and it’ll certainly pop up again in a later sale.

I think the reason that the Grenth hood has appeared closer to Wintersday is because of the traditional Wintersday battle between Grenth and Dwayna back 250 years ago in Tyria. I used to attend in Lion’s Arch, back in the pre-rubble, pre-flooding days. ~sniff~
Anyway, the whole thing was a lot of fun and the hood is no doubt an homage to that tradition. And yes, items do sometimes reappear and I bet this one will come around again so just keep your eyes on the store.

or they could fix the search, so people can search for threads and find the answer….
people are lazy and won’t search anyway…
Or maybe they do it on purpose and the more threads made, the larger the chance an item will return at some special occasion :p
I agree with LadyRhonwyn. The old City of Heroes forum used vBulletin and while I know some site masters who detest it we could filter searches by poster’s name, date range, exact phrases/all works/any words, in title or title and body, select multiple sub forums, etc. as long as the words were 3 or more characters.
And there were still players who wouldn’t use it.
