On the page that talks about the mad king, this is mentioned.

“The Black Lion Chest is getting a spooky upgrade for Halloween. Between October 23 and November 5 each Black Lion Chest you open has a chance to give you one of six exclusive Halloween-themed weapon skins!”

Now…does that include chests we already have, or chests that drop on the 23rd until the 5th?

Hmm, thats a good question. I’m assuming by the Black Lion Chest is getting an upgrade that it wont be an entirely new box, heres to hoping that the old boxes will work after the update. <3

Would be nice to have confirmation here, I have tons of boxes saved and after the announcement a few keys. Will these keys and boxes have the new stuff?

The previous change where they added the rare chance to get permanent bankers etc from the chest applied to old chests, don’t see why this would be any different.

Besides, it’s a chance for them to in theory remove some existing chests from the market. Also they want people to immediately have plenty of access to chests so they buy keys to open them. There’s no payoff to them having it only apply to new chests/making special halloween chests etc.

As for 100% hard info though where they definitely say it is the case, they have not given that information.
