Question for flippers
Well new skins are obtained by trading in weapon claim tickets. The only way to obtain tickets at this stage in time is from Black lion chests. Once Anet changes the requirement to 3claim tickets or more there is a less amount of weapons being obtained. In the future new players might want to snag a couple of these cool skins and slowly the market for these skins will go up. I usually go for the one thats the highest price in the current season, since it will most likely continue to be popular. All temp skins will go up in price the question is will future players like these skins and will they pay a high price for them? Will Anet rerelease these skins? I’m new to flipping myself, so if someone thinks i said something wrong feel free to correct me.
Last week was probably the best time to put in buy orders for 44-45g. Now prices are going up a little because they announced they wont be available anymore for 1 ticket each coming next tuesday. Sometimes you see them going down in price on the tp right after their ticket price got raised. I think that has to do with some players holding on to their skins, thinking prices will rise significantly right after the ticket price got raised, which is not the case, most of the time.
After a couple of weeks, prices will rise gradually, as new players buy those skins and flippers flip them. And it is not guaranteed that the most favourite weapon type skins will rise faster. Of course, greatswords and staffs are the most favourite but they also have the biggest supply on the TP, so it takes longer for the price to rise.

Also, keep in mind that many players are now wise to this economic strategy too. Be prepared for a lot of “hidden supply” to come out of the woodwork by people hoping to make a profit once the Lovestruck weapons go up in price. You can still earn money by investing in the skins, but the margins are getting thinner with each release.
I think the margins are getting thinner and take longer for it to go up(like the guy posted above me).

This just means you need to wait longer before selling. I doubt in 6+ months nearly as many people will still be holding onto these. It’s a longer term investment.

Yeah, which is fine if you’re willing to wait that long. However, you also have to factor in the risk of the skin being re-released or going on sale, or the market simply moving on to the next big thing.

Agreed… but I don’t see them re-releasing or putting on another sale before then (no big holidays/traditional sales times upcoming). I could obviously be wrong, but I don’t think there is a large risk atm.
If you’re looking for short term gains there are better things for that than buying BL chest skins.

These are gem purchasable skins.
If a claim ticket and thus a skin is 70g worth of gems, and that gem price goes *5, thn the gem price to purchase one goes up to 350g.
The TP price will be lower than that 350 though. All of the skins listed when the price was cheaper have to be bought up. This hasn’t happened with the Halloween skins for example, if you bought one of those hoping to flip it, you are still holding onto the item months later with not much price increase.
Plus anybody listing has to account for the risk that anet will undercut the lister with a weapon sale temporarily lowering the prices. So the price will never go above the 35o if ppl can just buy it from the gemstore for that price.
On the other hand, gold inflation, gem deflation is a fact of life and here to stay. Gems will get more valuable, items bought with gems too, When gems rise, ur weapons alternative purchase prie rises, giving you a bigger potential profit.
Claim tickets are from RNG boxes….
