This might sound odd, but I like to just leave the game on and stand there afk. I get the random urge to look up things in game or read the chat, and I don’t like to open up the game all the time. Since I sell stuff, it makes sense to afk at the TP.

The problem is, players are so LOUD. Their characters keep saying random stuff (I’m not sure if they’re casting a spell to make them talk or not), people run by and their char says things, and even NPCs have too much dialog in some places (black citadel) for someone who is just standing there afk for hours. The music and ambiance is nice, so I don’t want to log out to the character screen, either.

Does anyone know which TP is the least used, somewhere there are consistently very few players? NPCs I can live with, as long as they don’t have dialog every 5 mins. It’s just players I really want to get away from while afk.

Thanks.

I can totally empathize with you on this. Back when I used to do a lot of daytrading, I was looking for the quietest place and settled on Black Citadel because, at the time, it was the quietest for me.

Black Citadel: Only real annoyance is the two Charr guards, but their dialogue doesn’t cycle too often.

Rata Sum: Most convenient amenities, but also extremely crowded and it has the most annoying and repetitive NPC dialogue.

The Grove: Same. These NPC dialogues are so annoying.

Divinity’s Reach: I used to get annoyed there by the NPC laughter, but I think they have changed that since then.

Hoelbrak: Crafter and Bank were a bit too far apart for my convenience.

Timberline Falls – Kyesjard: I tried this one too, and while it was peaceful, I ended up dead from events a couple of times.

Now that everyone can have permanent minis, I’ve noticed that some of them are noisy too, but the one with the most annoying sounds is the Toxic Hybrid.

Just change your sound settings so dialog, and environment and effects, if necessary, are muted?

Meh, then I have to remember to turn it back on all the time when I stop afking.

Right now the TP at dwayna high road isn’t too loud. I’m too low level to really look around right now, but it’s better than the others so far. The charr at black citadel got a little too annoying after a while. Hoelbrek has the best ambience, but there are too many players.

I think the one in Bloodtide Coast wasn’t loud .. and there are also no mobs roaming around at that place, so it should be secure.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

You’re going to go out of your way to do this, but you won’t go out of your way to leave the settings menu open?

Very picky.

My advice is just go to a deserted spot and buy a permanent black lion trading post. They’re not too expensive.

The TP on Ebonhawke is a great place, there’s not too many people in there and has most of the services found on any city, with the exception of the Mystic Forge.

you could alt-tab out of the game and check the sound setting that says “mute game when in background”

Read the OP. Not what he’s looking for.

If they fixed the NPC, you can try the one in Mount Maelstrom. Both a bank and TP within feet of each other.
