Will a race change ever come into the BLTC? (Asura -> Norn ex.)

When makeover kits came out I thought this could be implemented later, but I think since you pick your story from the beginning and your storyline is based on that and race it would take a lot of work for developers to remap everything

At this current time, no. But in the future I would be surprised if it didn’t, the amount of money that can be made by it is irresistible

Whereas I see the loss of potential customer play time (get one character to 80 and you never need to run up another) and the mass confusion generated by being at potentially any point in the racial personal storyline and its a can of worms better left unopened.

well it would be cool to swich races but the problem lies in the personal story what if half way throw charr before you join the orders you decide to swich to asuran. will you loose all your charr story or have it cut in half jsut to make up for the lose of the other race. or what if you finish up your personal story and what about the My story? how can you say Im this hero part of the iron legin? will you half to redo your entire personal story in order to make up for therace change? thats the problem i see.

Probably easiest way to handle it would just have your story completely reset when you change races.

Which isn’t really a big deal.

It changes to what you race changed to, while it’s not ideal, It’d make serious money for them and you at least get some compensation, if you had plans to race switch in the future, It was a rather daft idea to have bought that specific racial armor. Just my grasp of it.

Just make it to where the personal story starts over with new choices. I don’t see what the problem with that is. Or even, I’d be ok with it just randomly picking things for me. I just want one of my characters to visually look like a different race.

Story line is reset back to beginning.

Any racial skills you’ve trained are removed from you, skill points are refunded so you can get the skills of your new race if you want.

Characters must remove all equipment before being able to change race, Cultural armor for another race won’t be equippable on the new race.

I don’t have any interest in changing race myself, but this is not something difficult to handle at all.

I’m sure we’d have a lot of people complaining that they spent a ton of money on cultural armour and they didn’t realize they wouldn’t be able to equip it xD

And those peoples opinions wouldn’t hold much weight in the grand scheme of things. There should be warnings before hand, but ultimately if you ever thought this was possible and you would do it, you wouldn’t have invested so heavily in cultural armor.

The amount of people that would complain about not being able to get cultural armor refunded pales in comparison to the amount of people that would happily use this feature.

This, and wouldn’t it make sense for any cultural armor that is soulbound to the character to instantly become account bound once race change is confirmed? Perhaps this could be exploited, but it seems viable.
