About character makeover.

I figured I have a character whose race I would like to swap. But doing so would mean that I need to use alot of gold on her items and alot of time on her leveling as the same class I leveled all the way up already.

I know that the Personal Story that the character has performed so far might get into the way of the character change, because Racial storylines etc. However, is this such a big deal and would it hurt to allow for this?

Personally I would be very happy and willing to pay quite a bit for “Complete character makeover” as I personally didn’t know that I would so much fall in love with a different races Cultural armor for Heavy Armor type as a Heavy armor type user of a different race.

Although making Cultural Armor All-races wide in return for some impressive in-world feats would be VERY good too. Obviously some armors like ones intended for Charr and Asura would require obvious tweaking to fit X races. It would still be very good as I dont like restricting armor stylazation per race.

Basically for doing something of great remark to X racial faction would in the end let you purchase their Cultural Armor with modifications to let it’s style and general look to fit the outsider race. The races who are of their own faction would ofcourse have access to it with mere gold right away.

For example: I am a human, I would like the Norn cultural Heavy armor in looks very much. However, the Norns large structure and face shape look worse than the human face and body definition to me.

Thus having access to human race with the look of the Norn armor would give me my ideal kind of character look. However it being race restricted makes me a very sad panda.

Anyways, these are my ideas and thoughs and I would be very happy to see either one, if not both implemented. The second idea might be more development heavy, however..

It may not be a big deal for you, and it isn’t for me, but those who care about investing their time in the story and not being able to change without losing their progress would feel robbed.

I should also add that it takes about 6 hours and 60-80G to level a character completely to 80 through crafting. I don’t know how much you would price a race change but I’m sure it would be at least 800 gems which as these rates would be +20g.

You can save even more money through crafting by leveling normally to 10 while relying on crafts for lvls 11-70, and Orr/events for 71-79

problem is: if you are tired of your char warrior with LEGENDARY on his hand and want to have a silvary or asura with that LEGENDARY or limited items stay the same then 800g or 1k gems to change race mean nothing. you saved XXX gold and time to make another legendary for your asura/norn.

dont just talk about minor stuff and forget the big things.

As said above, deleting your character and remaking it is not the answer, specially not for someone who has a legendary or just doesn’t have the patience nor time and would rather spend money/gold on gems and do it that way. I’m rather confused why this isn’t an option to begin with, simply erase story progression to default. If you have an issue with that, simply do not do it.

Transmute the look of your legendary on to an account bound white item of the same type. Transmute that on to an exotic with your new main and you’re done. All for the low cost of two transmutation crystals.

You’re still boned on the cultural armor though.

Also not an answer, you’ll lose the legendary status and if it’s ever upgraded with the ascended weapons, sorry, you’re also boned.

I wouldn’t say that’s a foregone conclusion, as if your speculation is correct everyone who transmuted their legendaries for a different stat set will also be boned. However you’re right, it might go down that way.

Still it is a solution, you just have to balance having your legendary on the character you want with the stats you want against the possibility of having to acquire an ascended weapon when you would have otherwise got one for free. You’ll need at least one or two more when they come out anyway, assuming you don’t have a legendary in every slot.
