It will never rise. Because Black Lion store doesn’t contain something that I can’t resist to buy. All really valuable things in this game trades for gold or karma. So, rate of gold will be pemanently rising and rate of crystals will be permanently falling, if ArenaNet will not add something that wil be high demanded to the store.

Ghertu, I think you underestimate the long-term value (and by that I mean the value of these things over the lifespan of the game) of things like mystic stones, fine transmutation stones, and convenience items (like the bank & trading post access items).

Are any of those things NEEDED to play the game? Of course not. But I suspect that the longer the game is played by more people, the more people are going to start to “depend” on those items to play the game in the way that they want.

Of course, only time will tell for sure.

Ok, I didn’t reject valuability of in-store items at all. Players need gems and gold both, but it seems they need more gold than gems. And it’s not noticable at nowdays, we will see it in future. Game still about beggining. But one day rather more players will start their hunt for epic weapons and tier 3 cultural armors than now. And many of them will not be ready to farm/grind gold for that stuff. Account uprades and transmutation stones cost less gems than 100 gold coins. So, i predict, players will trade gems for gold more than trade gold for gems.

I’ve seen that people buying gems on the exchange do this to expand their inventory space for both their bags and their banks. There are various uses people buy gems with in-game gold. It might just be that you are saving your money for equipment, while others spend theirs on other things.

as long as the price of lvl 80 exotics doesn’t drop or the price of lvl70+ exotics rises, people will keep buying gems with golds to get forge stones, since over the long run, you make good profit, and have also a chance to get exotics that are forgable to legendarys….so this is just one part that will keep people buying gems with gold. account upgrades and stuff is another…and boosters will also keep people buy it with ingame gold…not everyone likes to pay with real money for ingame cash…I don’t really think that the price will drop, since it has been rising for days. there are much more ingame farmers(people that buy everything with gold) than content buyers (people that buy everything with money)
