Now people who are using that skin have become VERY special look now aren’t they? I am not really gonna argue with you about ethics issue, but the basic moral principle, JUSTICE. Really fair for everyone? How about the people that wanna get it, but didn’t online in time?

What you did for me is just “Don’t even give the other player any noticed before you removed A LIMITED AVAILABLE ITEM from the gems store now.”

Isn’kitten“LIMITED AVAILABLE”? People already have it can KEEP IT, and people who didn’t buy one CAN’T GET ONE ANYMORE.

We can’t actually keep it… When they make the new one ours will be replaced with the new one.

Actually, I do work and go to school in the real world. At all levels, treating people fairly is the cornerstone of building and maintaining successful and profitable relationships for everyone involved.

It isn’t “life” that is treating the people affected by this unfairly. It is the people at ArenaNet that are treating them unfairly.

Take a deep breath and commit yourself to dealing with others fairly, considering their needs and wants, and looking for ways to fulfill both their needs and yours. It will, over time, improve your quality of life and the quality of life of those around you and curb your desire to make rage filled posts.

This whole idea of changing it isn’t fair people. Honestly get over yourself. Not to be rude but think about others as well as think about it just being a game so what if barbie isn’t unique anymore!, there always will be something to top over you. People are always going to want new things or keep the old things. People are just upset because no offense to the people that created the new outfits, but the light armor is the best one they did. It goes great with the flames and I commend you guys on that great job, seriously. The others not so much tho :P. But people are just upset because of that reason not being unique. You get what you paid for. I payed 10.00 to get that new armor set and I will kitten right be mad if I look and its something ugly. It isn’t fair for those who bought it already, liking what they did. Sure you guys don’t have the flame so what. What about the people who bought the armor an transmuted what they orginaly bought as human tier 3 armor and decided they wanted the flames so they got that, what about those people? Spending either all that time or gold on something like that just to end up with something kittenty. Its no big deal and it’s not fair for everyone. Life isn’t fair and honestly I think you guys should just get over it. It looks nice and if you want it buy it and shut up about it! I can already imagine how many complaints their going to get becuase of the transmuting idea as well as those who spent the money and just bought it because they liked it and ended up with something that isn’t so great. Good job guys you just caused more and more issues. Just think about others, and not just yourself. The ones that have it, teniqually your still unique you don’t have the flames, so your just not as cool :P sorry if that sounds rude but it is what it is. I just hope you guys realized the extensive problems you caused.

I guess it is all in your perception of what is fair and what is not. The people who complained didn’t think it was fair that the armor looked exactly like the T3 armor that cost them loads of gold/karma.

Also, I am still not seeing how the resolution to this “problem” is unfair to anyone. Anet pulled the skin, is redoing it and introducing it back into the store and at that point anyone can get their gems back if they aren’t happy with it. What is so unfair about that?

My point was directed to the OP who’s entire rant was about how unfair the whole situation was. He/she not only went on a tirade about fairness and JUSTICE (which keep in mind here we are still talking about a skin in an online video game), but his whole post was filled with inaccuracies about the situation and could have been completely avoided had he literally taken 5 minutes to read through the forums. My point was, life isn’t fair and it doesn’t matter if it’s anet’s doing or random circumstance. Furthermore, life is full of things that aren’t fair and the sooner you accept that and move on, the happier you will be.

Oh irony is so beautiful. You mean like taking into consideration the needs and wants of all the people who spent tons of currency on T3 armor only to have anet release a skin that is the same for 1000 gems?

Additionally, my post had nothing to do with rage. If you are referring to my sickness of people constantly crying about being treated unfairly, that isn’t rage. It’s just getting old listening to all the QQing about every little thing, especially things people find unfair, justified or not.

Indeed, this was a mis-step on Anet’s part. There has been uproar on the forums about plenty of game decisions that Anet have made, but they don’t tend to go back on their decisions unless they are in general agreement that they made a boo-boo. In many cases, they have stuck to their guns despite some massive outcries, for good or ill, so to claim that they always bow to the whims of the “forum whiners” is gross exaggeration.

I respect that they have acknowledged and moved to address this particular mistake. Reskinning just one of the race-exclusive cultural armours for much cheaper than the in-game costs was a slippery slope and I’m almost positive the fact that they didn’t want go all the way down that slope is the reason they jumped off it entirely. But like the sylvari armour changes debate, unfortunately you will never please 100% of the people after the fact.

I hope the new Flamekissed is beautiful and goes some way towards compensating those tangled up in this mess.

They don’t want anything else in the Gem Store (and I guess don’t expect to ever want anything else ever again) so they feel the refunded gems are just going to go to waste since they can’t keep the one thing they specifically purchased them for. They feel they bought a specific item with real money, are having the item taken away, and aren’t getting their real money back but rather “useless” gems.

I can see where those people are coming from, but at the same time, they didn’t actually spend real money on the item directly. They spent real money on gems, with the intention of buying the item with the gems they purchased. And there’s a disclaimer that says gems are not refundable, once you buy ‘em its a done deal. If it were a direct sale, they directly bought the item with cash, then they ought to get cash back for it. But since they bought the gems first and only used gems to buy the item, that’s what comes back. Its just the way “go-between” currencies like game money or gift cards work.

I can see why people would get upset if they bought gems for the sole purpose of buying that armor. However, as you stated, you are buying gems, not armor with your money. It is one of the risks you take when converting money into in game currency.

I still find it VERY hard to believe there are so many people who bought gems for this one specific set of armor and they have absolutely nothing else now or ever they could spend those gems on. While there is a legitimate gripe to some extent, the amount of QQing about this matter is WAY over the top.

In my honest opinion, I do not see people wearing that skin as “special” or lucky or anything. They just look exactly like the thousands of other naked human females running around the game or standing in lions arch. It seems to me to be a really homogenized look amongst lots of players. I can understand that it was cool and I totally get that if you had wanted that look and now you can’t get it that it has got to be disappointing. I would feel the same way if an armor came out and I couldn’t wear it but I seen people roaming everywhere with it.

However the armor is not going to be there forever and the devs stated you can get a refund if you don’t like the new design so don’t quit over ten dollars you can get back after you’ve test drove the new skin design, that’s more than anyone can really ask for imo.

They will remake it, FOR REAL? Just tell me WHEN? Don’t have a time limit, no matter they talk means nothing. Existing things are still exist, I’m just looking for NOW. For NOW, they are using LIMITED AVAILABLE that I’m not longer to get one. I am fighting with the PROCESS GOAL. How could they still using that skin, and I can’t get one now, even they are going change it? I don’t care what will it looks, I just care I can’t get it now, and people are using that to showing off with that armor in fount of me.

Process Goal: WHEN they put the skin back to gems store? I DON’T CARE WHEN IT WILL REPLACE AND WHAT WILL IT LOOK. I just wanna get one just like the other player that are using it.

What I see currently is people are still using that skin, and WE can’t get one CURRENTLY which is not justice.

Its totally unfair:

Excucse 1 “i bought a T3 costed so much more”

Answer: you got achievement AND gold value (and gem) is not stable.
People who bougt a T3 at the beginning of the game would have then the right to ask it to be taken away to everyone who bought after august since it was way easier to get gold.
(120+ gold in the beginning is not even comparable……to what is today you could buy a dusk for less)

Excuse 2: Only humans are supposed to that a racial armor

Answer 2: Will we see mjolnir removed from the game alongside the ice bows and the fiery GS?
Only elementalist should use such weapons.

Finally:
Is more ethic to take away stuff legit earned by players?
Or to preserve the greedy or lore stuff?

It was a mistake maybe but the solution is far less ethic than the problem itself…..

EXPECIALLY since its almost impossible that a full refund will be done to each player.

This incident shown a new low in community behavior IMHO.

Using for a period of time, is still a period of time. What thing don’t have an expiry date. I don’t care about when the replace it, I only care about the day between that skin not longer in gem store and the they that they gonna replace it which is the day no one know when it will comes. I just care about this “Significant Period of Time.”

Just think at all the downsides:
1) you can t buy stuff that goes well with that skin because you don t know what will happen

2) you won t be able to put the skin on the ascended new armor because you will lose even more….

I really hope they won t introduce ascended armors befor solving the issue….or they will even make more people mad.

Please, the a day is a day. No matter when they will take it back, they are still existing RIGHT NOW, and we are not able get now NOW. This means that armor skin is LIMITED AVAILABLE ITEM up to NOW.

1. I don’t care what will happen. No one know what will happen anyway.
2. Ascended armor is something that not exist yet. This point is just pointless. Btw, I don’t care what I will gonna lose. I just care the process goal ethic issue for now.

OP, get it in your head that people who rush content will always be rewarded double in this game.

That way you will not complain when this happens again in the future.

So are they going to refund the gems and 30+ gold i spent on new exotics if i don’t like the new design? sounds doubtful
