Account Upgrades from the Gem Store. I’m not sure what the current limitations might be preventing gifting them, but since most are items that you first have to consume before you unlock them I would think you could make it possible to gift these to other people through the gifting option in the gem store.

The only reason I can think of might be that it would be a waste of gems if you gifted someone a finisher or other account upgrade that they already have.
That would be a problem… but you might be able to avoid it if there was a check on whether or not the account being gifted qualified for it before it was sent (already unlocked/max slots), or perhaps adding a reject gift option to gem store gift messages which deletes the letter and refunds gems to the person who sent the gift?

Either way, I would like to see the capability eventually be added.

We don’t allow gifting limited account items because of privacy concerns.
(you could find out what anyone had unlocked by testing if they were giftable)

I guess that could potentially be an issue maybe. I assume it would have to do with a potential hackers looking at accounts to determine their value?

Perhaps you could use the decline a gift idea then. That way the person gifting the item can’t know what the person receiving has when they send the gift. It would be up to the person who received the item to decide if they reject it so the sender gets their gems back or if they accept it.

This way, if they declined it the sender wouldn’t know exactly if it was because they already had the unlock or didn’t want it. If they accepted it, the sender would only know that they now have at least just that one unlock. Plus another thing to note would be that the sender wouldn’t be able to tell if a person accepted the gift or just sitting in an idle accounts inbox in limbo.

Thanks for the reply though!

Edit: One last thing that would be important in that system is something to track the gem value of the item when it was purchased. That way if the gift is rejected, they don’t get more or less gems back than what they paid for the item if there are price changes.
