Before anybody brings it up, yes, I know it says “personal” merchant.

Anyway, having just found out that the reusable BL merchant only can be used by me (or whoever summoned it), I have to just flat out ask why.

I don’t see enough of them in the world or in dungeon groups to make it so that by doing this you encourage people to buy more. In fact, quite the opposite. I bought it because I thought it’d help my dungeon group and cut down on TP/time costs for going to sell elsewhere outside of CoF/CoE.

What the hell is the point of making it for one person and one person only? The chance of it dropping from the chest is apparently quite low and the price is FAR too high to make it worth it for the single person , not that that’s Anets fault but the point still stands.

so, what gives?

That doesn’t make much sense, the normal non permanent ones work for all players. Thanks for the info though, I was going to buy one for WvW crews, but if thye don’t work I suppose I wont.

It disappointed me as well when I had first bought it… but with all the time it has saved me from running back and forth to the tp over the past few months… I feel its been worth it for me.

I’m dissapointed that I’ve to actually talk to my personal BLTC slave instead of just popping up my tp automagically like personal bank does (with bank).
The way bank works, pure gold. npc to sell my stuff, meh. I’m not that lazy.

Just to be sure: you do realize you can use the BTC interface to buy and sell stuff from anywhere in the world, right? You only need to go to an actual trader if you want to pick up the stuff from the pick-up tab. Stopping by the trader once a session should be enough on most days.

A Black Lion merchant is a merchant, not a trader.
