Sorry that you got scammed, Keks. We look at every report and try to get a better picture of the situation. Chances are that this player has scammed others, as well. If that is the case, and we can see a clear history of scamming, then we will take appropriate action. This can range from a ban lasting a few days, to a permanent ban.

If an offer seems too good to be true, it generally is.

I bet if Anet allowed player to player trading, it would dramatically decrease the amount of scamming reports they get.

Sorry you got scammed, that stinks.

Anyway, a great solution would be a COD system via mail. That way there could be a track through their mail system, which I suspect they use to help shut down the thieves but still a way for players to trade outside the TP.

Plus a CoD can still deduct a tax.

It could be that the person sent the item but it never arrived.
- Sorry for hijacking this topic a little bit, but today I sent an item to a guildy and the item never arrived, although I typed out her name (correctly, 100% sure of that).. it was a rare gold chest piece, nothing of great value, only 3-4 silver at the Trading House.

I’m not sure if I’m going to mail items again in the future though. :P

This pretty much, I would really like to see a CoD system, sometimes you just don’t want to trade through post :S

I like the trading house, old fashion trading (as on Guild Wars 1) was really hard to follow, people were abusing different channels to ‘sell’ their items, the trading house is easy, fast and you no longer have to browse (and register) on a lot of forums hosting the prices of certain items.

Irrelevant, but a lot of people that are being hacked today, registered to places where you could buy and sell items to other players or check out prices for any item you’d find.. they got rid of a big threat by doing this, imagine how many more people would get hacked registering on insecure forums with the same account details.

This is why I like the Trading House, it’s a lot faster and more efficient, also I’m lazy. :P

So Anet, now that there is proof your bright ideas will only increase scamming are you finally going to give us what we have been demanding since the first BWE?

We want P2P trading back…and remove the foolish limit to the amount of money that can be sent. The idea that limiting it to how many levels you have gained on an account is not stopping gold sellers because, as can be seen now, they get a new account and bot characters up and can send gold with them.

All your birght ideas are doing is hurting ALL your players that play by the rules…

The trading post is where you should be buying all your items. I wouldn’t trust P2P trading at all. Guild Wars 1 had a trade panel and people still found ways to scam the unsuspecting. Plus, I love that the trading post will eliminate the WTS spam in local chat.
