I have been watching the price of Mystic Conduits rise of late and decided that now is the time to sell. Why? Because I was able to sell for 9g and buy the Nexus and Frame for about 6g. All I had to do was find the listing fee and I’d be able to make 3g profit and replace my Conduit.

Here’s the problem. The prices being displayed by a search bare no relation whatsoever to the actual sell/buy prices.

Lowest Sell price: 6g 40s 96c

Mystic Conduit search price: 6g 69s 99c

Lowest 3 Offers: 6g 24s 32c, 6g 25s 1c, 7g 50s 3c
This one has actually changed. When I sold mine, the price listed in search was 10g and the highest offer was 9g.

I feel like I have been scammed. Whether by someone somehow manipulating the interface, or by poor implementation on ANet’s end. I sold my Conduit for 8g (after tax) and it cost me almost 14g to replace it (I had all the ingredients except the Nexus and Frame).

The winners here are the person that bought my Conduit for 9g and is now listing it at 11g, and ANet who just made $20 (actually $30, but I was going to buy $10 worth of gems anyway) out of me because I was forced to buy Gems and trade them for gold to replace my Conduit.

I returned from a trip and updated GW2 to find this still hasn’t been addressed. There are several threads about it, the price db hasn’t reported in search results in at least a week now. Each item must be clicked on to see real price and availability. I can’t help but wonder if it’s just another ham-handed attempt to slow traders, but can’t say I really care anymore.

Yes, please fix this. This is highly annoying issue. You have to click actual items to see the prices.

I have had the same issue, it is incredibly frustrating when searching for a lot of ingredients.

or if u selling item and TP showing 00.00.00 like no item for sale. People loosing money by this…

Congrats.. so you first sell your conduit under price by not paying attention, then you pay 5g more to get a new one, than you should’ve paid in the first place.

You so keenly observed that the completed conduits are sold for 11g.. why on earth would you then buy a frame for 7g and a nexus for 7g more to make one yourself, especially considering that the coins and node together are worth like another gold piece. So you spent 15g for an item that you could’ve bought for 11g straight out of the BLT..

Not to mention, that would you have waited a few more days, sell prices would probably have been dropped well below the 9g you got for your item. Margin trading is not for the hot headed or the impatient.

Hint and a free advice: There is no free instant money on the BLT. It does not work like the way you imagined it would. The only way to make money off it is to invest gold into buying things cheap and then invest time and attention into selling those things for a higher price.

Other than that.. the BLT is bugged as hell and the caching of prices is one of the bigger issues with it, though by far not the biggest one.

And congratulations to you for reading the OP. What I saw was the mat’s selling for a total price of 7g and the finished product selling for 9g. I did not have 7g, so the only way for me to make the perceived 2g profit was to sell my completed product to raise the cash and then replace it with the new mat’s. It was only after doing so that I discovered the prices are being displayed incorrectly.

Maybe you should actually read posts before making kitten comments on them in the future.

Hint and free advice: The mat’s required to make a Conduit are in limited and very short supply. The price can only go up for them, and the Conduits, until one of the mat’s run out.

I am experiencing the same problem as the OP.

The search prices bear no relation to the actual prices anymore(the search worked fine a week ago.)
Its not that the prices changed as it was loading. You can refresh and it keeps showing the same wrong price.

It looks to me as though their TP maintenance last week introduced index caching to reduce the load on the servers – the only problem is either the cache is not being updated regularly enough or it is not being updated at all.

Caching on an auction interface is -always- a bad idea, what they should have done was throw more hardware into the mix instead of trying to cut corners/costs.

Now you were either lying on purpose to further your agenda, or you had 14g and spent it – not too wisely – on base materials instead of buying the cheaper, completed item.

As for your market advice.. I DO make money off the BLT, so you do not need to tell me how it works. I do however – and will keep doing so – laugh about those wannabe traders who go way beyond their means in hopes of a quick profit and then fall flat on their face due to their own stupidity slash inexperience slash impatience.

I see reading comprehension isn’t your strong point, either that or you’re a troll. Most likely a combination of both.

Dear OP, you keep telling me that I failed to comprehend what you wrote. That might very well be, your post being the garbled mess it was to begin with. Maybe you could elaborate a little on how I should have interpreted the 14g line that I quoted above.

As for you playing out the “you’re and idiot or a troll” card, its hilarious by the way. What about the third option? You fail at making coherent posts? Or even more likely the fourth option? You make stuff up / spice up facts to make your sod story a little more dramatic?

Happened to me too, tho on a much lower scale. I was buying up super-cheap dye (60c and lower) and I realized I was spending 1s50c on dye that were listed as 39c on the search page. I was buying a lot so I was just clicking & going, but once I noticed it kitten off) I surfed the TP much more slowly.

The average for every single item hasn’t changed in over 8 days? Um no, that’s not correct. The database is not reporting current prices for searches. Is it intentional? Maybe, probably. Is it different and does it appear broken? Yes.

This has gone on for far too long.

IMO these items are worthless anyway, but i made sure to grab em up before the update that took out the Mystic recipes. $$$$$$$$$$

First and foremost, I apologize for the situation. We are not intentionally messing with the prices in search results. We’ve identified the cause of the problem and are testing a fix. We’ll have the fix in as soon as we can.

Thank you for an update on this issue. It has been over a week since it appeared (with the Oct 1 update), and I’ve stopped practically all TP usage because of it. I certainly hope it’s fixed before the weekend.

Any more updates on this crippling issue? It’s going on 2 weeks now…
