Search dyes by hue
In before “look it up online using xyz website”.
Anyway even though I have all non-special dyes, new search options are always welcome. We have a lot more search options now and some of the ‘programmer only’ things were removed, but we need more, like you said, we can’t search for dye categories at all.
And to add to the Dye suggestions, can we have the dye tab sorted by HUE by default instead of Set? I mean when I click the gear, By Hue is the top option, one would assume that it would be the default sort style but no, it’s the bottom one that has precedence.
Also, I really wish they were sorted properly as well. I don’t know what criteria you used to sort these but wow… Think color wheel sort for visual gradient instead of “we’ll just put this color here and this one here and this one here” etc…
I mean just look at the purple category or look at the By Material or By Set categories… random colors just tossed around in there and no way to visually figure out what is what.
Grayscale, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple(indigo, violet).
I would very much like an advanced search option in the BLTC to search dyes by hue. It’d make it much easier to search all of a particular hue and preview them on my armor right away rather than looking them up one at a time on “xyz website,” then searching that dye by name, then previewing said dye, and repeat the process for every dye of that hue. With the overhaul of the BLTC, I’m surprised something like this didn’t make it.
I also agree that sorting dyes by hue should be the default option on your dye tab in the hero panel. Or at least, you should be able to set it as default.
Agreed.
I don’t collect dyes, I just buy colours as and when I need a new one (e.g. I get a new piece of armor, my darkest purple looks a bit too pale so I want a darker one). Which means I don’t always know the name of the dye I’ll want in advance.
At the moment I have to go to the wiki, try to estimate from the tiny sample squares which one is best, search for it on the trading post and start over if it’s not right.
It would be much simpler if I could filter for ‘purple dyes’ and then just make my way down the list. And since the game is already capable of sorting dyes by hue it seems like it should be a relatively easy addition.
