Hey I missed the Molten Alliance Mining Pick, can we expect these to become available again in the future?
(paying the $10 for it)

They will unlikely come up with another molten alliance mining pick, but they will most likely come out with other themed unlimited pick

I.e. they could have released a Dragon Basher Pick or a Zephryite Lightning Pick

I hope they do another round of them soon for people that weren’t paying attention. :x

They need to get all the items back in the store as soon as possible. I have alts gathering resources the old-fashioned way that would gladly pay $10 each. (Alts never know the value of money; and rarely appreciate the hard-working main that supports them.)

But you know how much you have to gather to gain back the gold/gems that could been sold for gold? It’s so not worth buying, sure is handy but not good for your vallet.

Compared to the 4s cost of a normal tool, you’d have to go through 700 tools worth of uses for each one to pay off XD (calculated at th current 100gems =3.5g)

But anyway, the weapons are by far for appearances, as well as slightly for convenience. Consider them legendaries among gathering tools.

It’s about convenience, not copper value savings over time. at 1-1.5g/hr, translating gold earning rate an hourly wage value makes us all look like a bunch of slave labourers.

Really though, if you were concerned with convenience, it would be much more convenient to ignore all gathering nodes and spend money for your materials on the TP. You would still be spending less than you would if you bought the unlimited mining items as well. If you wanted to “conveniently” waste your money, then that’s another story. I do however realize the emotion behind this reasoning, as it went through my head as well. You just need to beat it with logic!

My reasoning for buying them was that they are max gear, and I want max gear. Although the cost was not an issue for me, since it was a now-or-never type of thing, it was offset slightly by the fact that I’ll make my money back in 3 years :P

On topic: I see it likely that there will be a bundle of some sort, or perhaps a reward for some living story where you get a ticket that gives you access to one unlimited gathering tool. Then of course there is also the chance that they restart the cycle with a different type of mining pick with the next living story, and continue on that way. Although I don’t think ANet will do anything predictable when it comes to things that affect gem sales. They like to keep us guessing, as a marketing strategy.

I bought the molten pick and the wooden axe, but not the sickle, because to me Anet appeared both lazy and greedy by releasing the sickle with lackluster animations.

If they re-released the sickle with improved animations, I’d probably buy it.

They redid the animation twice already. Picky aren’t you (pun intended).
