Siege in trading post- wow
I like the change, but be careful… the person buying your siege blueprints could be from one of the servers you’re currently matched against. :P

If you’re selling siege you likely don’t care about wvw anyway… otherwise there’s a dozen commanders willing to take donations on your server I’m sure.

You know for all this cry of AC wars it is interesting to note that flame rams and balista actually have a higher demand.
I know a lot of commanders appreciate this change as siege is now cheaper. It uses to be buy with bages then coin but coin was expensive. Now badges then trading post is the way to go.
What do you think are guild blueprints overpriced?
As someone who never PvPs but does the EB jump puzzle a lot, this makes me very happy. Time to cash in my stacks of siege and free up my bank tab!

I don’t quite understand why people who can afford to throw 100g on a badge would need donations lol. Shouldn’t it be the other way around, commanders giving out siege to people who follow them?

As a general practice, most people leave it to the commander to place siege. I’ve seen it plenty of times before where if it goes any other way, there is just too much. Because the commander has supply check ability he can calculate how much should/can be expended so its better left in cmd hands, unless its an organized guild. So basically the commander uses 90% of the siege and others fill in with defensive stuff.

The answer to that is simple. After he got his commander tag all his gold went to siege. As before all of it went to saving up for a commander tag. So he is now broke.

Any decent WvW guild will fund for commander tags. My guild alone has funded over 15 Commander tags with players personally buying on other toons.
Most commanders want to place siege because of locations and how it plays into their tactics. If you only have enough supply for 2 rams and 1 ac and a pug throws down a random piece of siege, you are more than likely left with 1 unbuilt ram giving the defenders time to call in support or build more siege.
Also, most commanders use superior siege. Personally, I’ve never seen a random throw down something that wasn’t normal.
My fun laughs at your server pride.

As of today, it seems Ballistas are going for about half the price of Arrow Carts despite being priced at 4 more silver/BoH at the npc vendors. This does not surprise me. lol

Last night I used 20g worth of siege defending vale and bay… why should commanders be the only ones to pay for siege when the entire group benefits from it being placed?

I hope you are trolling. If not, thinking like this is why I am always broke. Too many people not willing to share the cost of waging war and leaving it up to the commander to pay for everything.

Whenever I need to free bank space by getting rid of siege weapons, I just go to wvw and write on map chat, free siege weapons at “border waypoint,”, everybody wins

This. And the serious commanders who play frequently can burn through a lot of siege very quickly. While they may be able to fund buying more, it can quickly become expensive for one person to fun. That zerg of 5o gets the loot at the expense of a few armor repairs, but the commander shoulders both the burden of leadership and the cost of siege. Before this update people regularly donated siege to commanders to help out, so this just acknowledges what was already happening and allows us to skip past the formalities.
Its a nice nod to see the price of siege come down a bit.
