Celestial items obtained by dumping large amounts of silk/leather/candy into vendors.

Supply is depleting fast, and should pick up even more once patch hits tomorrow.

This was bound to happen, but I just couldn’t justify myself investing in hundreds of stacks of the cheap stuff for the inevitable price increase.

Now its going to be offset because everyone will read this, should of kept it your little secret

None of those materials are worth outright destroying except silk scrap and thick leather and if that guide is right and the main result is only celestial recipes you would only really want to destroy ~2 stacks per character anyway. This is essentially them selling us crafting recipes(that not everyone who crafts might even want) for 17.5silver.

I highly doubt this affects supply unless they also took a pass at what drops in heavy bags.

The boxes also drop the skins according to some of the other previews, so that’s probably what will drive most of the box opening.

I agree that they need to reduce or remove those mats from heavy bags for it to make a lasting impact. But at least they are trying something.

its something that’s been needed for a while, although as most have noted for it to have a lasting affect the source of these excess mats needs to be adjusted accordingly and lowered. perhaps the sky people visit every few months to eat our excess mats? i doubt that would work since interest from players prolly wouldnt be as high as the initial visit unless they had new stuff.. but its something at least.

So over a month for a single set “just because”? Hopefully the other stuff aren’t going to be this disappointing.

I’m Sad… I was looking forward to buying a bunch more Zhaitaffies for 5c each today so I could trade them all in for the Food instead…

Yeah… I shoulda known better that waiting till the last day would be atleast 1 day too late. No biggey tho I guess, I’m sitting on 1k coffers that I didn’t even buy (they just wouldn’t quit dropping!)

Well by some miracle thick leather has risen to 10c….

at least according to gw2spidy. I’m assuming that must be an error because there was over 7,000,000 units listed at 8c as of 2 hours ago. I can’t get ingame atm to confirm but wow…

This market is either going to crash hard tomorrow or if the boxes are worth it then it might continue for a while. Lets hope the patch brings a balance on the drop rate of these mats as well.

Don’t forget about the (possibly) huge explosion of gold that will hit from people earning their achievement rewards all at once. This will be an interesting day indeed.

Money making is an addiction

Oh, I don’t really use the TP as a money maker, aside from using it to sell loot at a higher price than I’d get at the vendor for it. But observing how people make decisions to buy and sell and understanding the psychology behind it all is quite fascinating.

you actually only get 1 chest per day, so the achievement rewards will be a trickle not a flood.
