So is this ever going to get fixed?
wow that sucks, what did they tell you to do on your ticket
Not a kitten thing. I am pretty much getting ignored on all fronts.
Have you tried repairing the game client? Instructions here:
https://en.support.guildwars2.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8981/~/the-guild-wars-2-client
“Repair instructions for the mac client are not current available”
Well that’s no good, then.
That’s a browser interface, make sure that gw2 and all associated parts of it can go through your firewall — turn off your firewall and see if it works, might have to give permission for gw2 to access the internet more than once or even some other processes permission.
I don’t have a firewall, and am not sure how to do the other stuff? My TP worked fine up until a few weeks ago (I have been playing since early access weekend) and I did not change a thing. It just stopped working.

Then just uninstall and download everything again. That should get rid of any damaged parts of your client.
I am quite sure your issue is that your temp TP files are corrupted. Just go to them and delete them. The next time gw2 starts, it will remake those files and your TP should be working again just fine.
There are a couple of potential issues that can disable the TP for some players. The easiest solutions are (in order):
- Ensure you are running GW2 with admin privileges.
- Restart GW2
- Close GW2, clear your cache, and restart (as noted above, navigate to % temp %, without the spaces, and delete the GW2 folder)
- Configure your anti-malware software to allow “awesomium_process.exe” to run. (That’s the software that actually connects the game to the TP database.)
- Restart your router.
- Make sure your software/hardware firewalls aren’t blocking GW2, specific websites, or the process above.
downloading the game seriously takes like 18-24 hours … my internet tops out at 100-150kb/s and i really don’t want to do that again…. as for the cache folder I saw that in a post, yet again I am on a mac so there is no temp file
They’re ignoring you because it’s a beta client, so it’s not fully supported.
It looks like the browser is failing to download any additional files required to show the page, such as images, css and js files. Either something is blocking those files (typically an antivirus/firewall), your cache is corrupted or everyone with the mac client has the issue.
On Windows, the cache is located in a hidden temporary file location, and the folder’s name starts with gw2cache. Assuming a somewhat similar directory structure, you should be able to find it by searching your entire computer for either gw2cache or awesomium. Inside the gw2cache folder should be a log file (awesomium.log), showing any errors.
Neither of those show up when I search.
I have similar problems to yours when I attempt to use my mumble overlay with GW2. Not sure if you are using that or not…
It’s a mac so all of that stuff is probably inside of a .dmg file or the other compressed volume folder type it uses. You can open those files and look inside just like working with a .zip file, somewhere in there will be the gw2cache folder you can empty.
I am not using mumble. I actually deleted GW2 and reinstalled. Took over 30 hours to download everything. And it still doesn’t work. Looks like I am not going to have a trading post for Wintersday ><
Sometimes it doesn’t work for me. Sometimes it does. I can’t figure out why, as the rest of the game is fine all the time. I’m on a Mac too.
Sometimes I click on Sell My Stuff and it just sits there on the main screen and doesn’t go to that tab.
Cheers.
Updated every Monday
I’m on a mac. The TP will occasionally not work (tries to load with a swirling circle indefinitely). I just go away and come back later and it works (10-360 min later, it’s random). I didn’t even suspect it was a problem on my end until reading this. I always assumed the Anet sever that holds it crashed (I can still buy/sell gems and see the gem store and pick up cash from sales, but not the trading post or do anything in the gem store). I’ll try reinstalling GW2.
To the OP: Go to the folder that contains your GW2 application (in finder). right-click on the GW2 application, select “Show Package Contents”. Inside there is every file that GW2 uses (I’m pretty sure the file paths are even the same as the PC version). Items inside of packages are not searchable with spotlight, so you have to look manually.

It’s not in there. What you’re probably looking for is in ~/Library/Caches/com.transgaming.guildwars2
Which has the added sadness of not being deleted when you trash and reinstall the client, so that probably won’t help.
There’s also a bunch of random stuff in ~/Library/Application Support, but clearing the Caches stuff above fixed TP for me. It looks like this is a rather common issue with the Mac client right now.
Try deleting gw2 data folder on my documents.
I looked in the “caches” folder and that file was not in there. Just to be safe I dleted every file in there anyways. It did not help. I deleted the GW2 data file in “my documents”, did not help. Maybe the maintenance will do something tomorrow, but probably not
Try to look up programdata file (not sure where it is on Mac). It is c:/programdata for windows . Delete all patches and reinstall them.

Hi there OP, i would just like to make a suggestion, also i think i would loose my mind with no TP for 2 weeks, i feel ur pain ^^
Just a thumbsuck but my understanding is the TP is essentially a web service or html of sorts, and you may have certain ports on ur router or isp shaped/blocked or a newly installed app or update that has corrupted ur html rendering capability, just check if u have installed anything since this started, small chance the problem is not the game itself, but either way, reinstall/repair wont hurt.
Don’t be lazy and reinstall the program! Or buy a pc, problem solved.
Killacam – I have now reinstalled the game twice. 3 days worth of downloading. Nothing has changed. It stopped working after the November 27th update that put makeover kits in the TP. I have also ran a “-repair” command in cider, the program that apparently runs GW2 on a mac. When ANET responded to my support ticket they gave me instructions on how to fix a PC (told me to update my windows, fix my IE,etc.) even though I said both in the post, as well as when selecting an operating system that I am on Mac OSx 10.8. Here it is 16 days after it stopped working, and it has not been fixed. Wintersday starts tomorrow. Sad day.
Sorry to say I don’t have the answer for you but like many have said, it looks like you’d need to clear the cache of your router and clear the Mac equivalent of temp files. I know that the TP is css and js ran(from what it looks like) so it may ALSO be your java cache(if they have that in a Mac) that needs to be cleared.
how doy ou clear router chache? and java?
I’d say that your HTTPS connection is passing trought a firewall-proxy and this “man in the middle” is actually making fail the handshake client’s certificate.
Since it’s could be either local or remote, you should first configure your firewall, or disable it and see if that issue is going away.
I never have had a firewall nor did I put one up. As I said this started with the update. It has to be something about the update (the one that put makeover kits in gem store, so the update had to do with the gemstore/tp aspect of the game specifically)
Even if on MacOsx the firewall is disabled by default, double check u’ll you might have enable it. Also, right click on the guild wars 2 app and make it safe and over “Security & Privacy” allow “Mac App Store and identified developers”.

Yeah I have already done all that. The amount of things I have attempted to try to get it to work is pretty extensive.
Try accessing it directly: https://tradingpost-live.ncplatform.net/authenticate
Note, you can only view it out of game, so don’t try to buy anything.
If you can access it directly, your problem revolves around the client, whether it’s downloading corrupted files or getting blocked.
If you can’t access it, you have a networking problem.
Frog – I have played the game both on my router and on my campus wireless when I take my computer to school and it doesnt work on either.
Healix – I have done that before and yes I can see it fine.
we have exactly the same problem, also tried all of the suggestions….
HELP since 2 weeks no TP
