Q:
Candy Corn prices are still tanking after the halloween, even considering the pretty cool sink we have:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Candy_Corn_Gobbler
Halloween nourishment, which brings unique magic find, still sits at the base price, even though the recipe for it asks you to throw away about 20 silver per portion.

There’s no way to get any candy corn anymore, so it should be increasing little by little in my opinion.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vial_of_Maize_Balm can be a way around it, but long-term it only eats away at the corn, not produces more of it.

Plenty of players still have this stuff in their inventory, so there is no demand for any of these items atm. People who hoarded it in order to sell with a profit might be panicking about now and selling their stuff, further dumping their prices.

One would suspect the items should go on the rise long-term, you suggest that not enough time has passed yet to see the effect of it?(If I understood you correctly)

Not entirely true. Not to say that Candy Corn nodes available to players would cover all of the anticipated usage, but it can add to supply at any time.
These are mostly long term items. I’d say expect a rise in prices around August or so. There may be a few spikes here and there as speculators buy things up or dump them.

Don’t forget that you can also get the recipe for Vial of Maize Balm, as well as the vials themselves, which also produce a ton of candy corn and other halloween items. MY guess it will follow watchwork sprockets, it’ll bottom out for a bit, then climb back up, and level out.

I’ve blundered with the candy corn nodes, but honestly they seem like a drop in the ocean :P
And vials of maize balm? Did you even check the recipe?
At the very best it’ll give you 9 ToT bags for 100(!!!) candy corn!
Though I guess it’s possible to co-operate with other players about it…

Yes. Usually, also most of the supply in game is in peoples inventories/banks, not on the tp. Regular players usually hold on to some of their supplies in hopes of prices rising after the event is over. Thats usually not the case because even though generated supply doesnt come in as regularly as during the event, demand also goes down alot as most people still have enough personal supplies to last for them.
New demand is usually generated by new players that didnt have the chance to collect those ressources themselves. Cocnerning the items you have listed:
Candy Corn still drops from the home node and ToT Bags, which can still be farmed via maize balm. But there are some good sinks for it, so i expect its price to rise eventually.
The 3 nourishments also still drop from ToT Bags but over time their value should rise closer to crafting value. Might take a bit of time though, because right now, i dont see much content where these are viable because the mf buff only applies for 20s after rezzing. IT was kinda viable to use in the lab but not right now in silverwastes where MF as a stat is pretty useless due to a lack of direct drops.
From the Halloween patch, i think, the only tradeable items that arent farmable anymore in game are the recipes for maize balm, pumkin oil and sharpening skulls and the refined versions of skulls/nougat/fangs.

Though I agree(At least i feel they’re right) with your ideas, you’ve made 2 mistakes i feel I should correct:
30% Magic Find is a permanent bonus. It is not reliant on resurrecting people – only the stat bonuses are.
Moreover, Silverwastes chests are indeed affected by the magic find – though not significantly, since you’re guaranteed to get 1 champion bag out of them in any case.
Jeez… This is not an overnight process. It will take months.

It depends on where you are using the bags. There are places with a very high concentration of ambient creatures to use them on, which will generate more then 9 bags. Also the candy corn drop rate per bag is an average of 9 pieces. (http://wiki-en.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trick-or-Treat_Bag/research). So even if you did get the 9 bags, you can still get an average of 81 candy corns per vial, couple that with the candy corn node, and you can easily get enough candy corn to make more vials, and still have extra candy corn. However, as I said, there is still a trickling supply, and will follow the watchwork sprockets in that there are still ways to get them, without buying them off the TP, and the price for them will climb a bit, the level out.

Yeah youre right about the permanent buff for mf from the nourishments, however, mf does not affect any kind of containers (champ bags or chests) expect from pvp reward tracks.

That’s correct, I tested this.
Pumpkin oils, sharpening skulls and crystallized nougat give a 30% magic find, whether you resurrect or not. And because it counts as a “nourishment” (similar to sharpening stones, maintenance oils, and tuning crystals), you can complement it by another 30% from food buffs raising your magic find by a whopping 60%.
The cheapest option is if you use these with spicy pumpkin cookie (which gives 30% MF, extra condition damage, 15% extra XP and lasts for 45 minutes). It currently sells for only 1 silver per cookie I think.

Each toss of the balm will only transform 3 creatures, so the most you can get from one balm is 9.

You’re right, my bad.
Either way, my point is, that candy corn is still able to be acquired.
I don’t see that many people running around with 15 buff. And the only other sink is 20 slot bag.
The sheer amount of Candy Corn and other Halloween items created by the masses of Trick or Treat bag farmers and the masses of people opening them in hopes of getting the Mini and shiny wrappers will probably take quite a while to clear out, even with a sink.
Heck, I only opened around 300 bags and I probably got almost 3000 candy corn and probably at least 60 of each of the consumables (and I was using them during my Lab farming to boot). Granted, part of the candy corn I got was probably loot or harvested and not just from bags, but it does illustrate just how much of the stuff was created just from bags alone. And some people were opening those in the thousands.

Heh, yet another lovely side effect of making the ghost dog RNG and account bound… more bags opened… more Halloween loot obtained… less demand on the TP after the event.
As Wanze pointed out, the vast majority of supply in the game is actually “hidden supply”, meaning that it’s stored away in players’ banks and inventories. As a rule of thumb, for the visible supply on the TP, assume there is at least 10 times that supply stored by players.
There is usually a period of “panic selling” after a holiday or event finishes, when players who hoarded up stuff during the event now want to clear shop so they have room for the next event. This means if you haven’t gotten the stuff you want, the time immediately after the event finishes is an excellent time to buy.
@ OP, there IS a way to gather candy corn… earlier on u could get a node in u’r home instance… At least I have it, and I guess I’m not alone.

And he can always get a friend that has it to let him into their home instance.
This behavior in prices is normal. It happened both years and happened again Wintersday both years.
All of these Candy Corn items take precious inventory space and demand is actually lower than it was during Halloween for the various tonics.
The foods depend on magic find which is only useful in like two zones.
The only sinks for candy corn and the rare items are the gobbler, the once a day maize recipe, and 20 slot bags/minipet.
The trick or treat bags lose a lot of their value not that the skritt either don’t drop or are worthless.
If you hold onto your Halloween stuff it’ll probably regain its value and maybe even give you a small profit by September, but most people are selling and wouldn’t be. Buying.

There are quite some more sinks for candy corn, though, from food consumables (candy corn ice cream even sold at 50s) to Halloween weapons.
