Hi, I couldn’t find this on the forums, is it legal to buy and sell gems on the BLTC? Like buying shares in gold in real life and selling them for a profit? Thanks…

Sorry, let me just make it clearer.. Am I allowed to buy gems with in-game gold and sell them for in-game gold with profit in-game.. No real money in play here…

You could, but it is not easily possible because there is a large margin between gold → gems and gems → gold

It is possible, but the market has stabilized since it’s released. You still do see those spikes before holidays/quaggan backpacks however, you can perhaps take advantage of that.

You call that “stabilized”? There may be little spikes, but the inflation marches forth. So you will make profit if you just wait long enough.

Trust me, you do not want to do this.

Not only will you have to wait a long time, but you can make better profit investments with in-game items.

Opportunity cost, friend. You will be losing a lot.

The price difference in the conversion makes this nearly impossible to make money in this manner. Like other say, invest in something else.

I bought ~5000 gems @ ~400 gems for 1g and another ~5000 @ ~300 for 1g. If I were to sell my gems now, I could make a profit.

If that’s what you’re referring to, buying and selling gems using the gem exchange, that’s perfectly legal. If you buy gems now however, you won’t be making any profit, probably ever.
