Is there a reason that any style armor skin on the BLTC is only 1 time use and not something similar to Achievements skins?
If I drop 800 gems ($10) on a skin I would expect it to be account bound and be able to be reused at my will.
I also think people would be more inclined to purchase these said skins if they were reusable for the purchaser.
The way it is now just seems really wrong and expensive to me to charge for each use.

Yes, the reason is they want you to spend 800 Gems each time, preferably bought with cold hard cash.

I see plenty of players wearing all or parts of Gem store armor while I’m in DR hanging by the bank/tp so they do sell.

You have to be addicted to the game first. Then you won’t see that you’re wearing a 10 dollar anymore.

$10 that’s like two beers or a kittentail at a bar that will just go into the toilet an hour later. Plus you can just use gold since everyone has like 200g sitting in the bank now.

Going to the movies by yourself runs about $30 with popcorn and snack and who goes to the movies alone. So it will run you $60. Considering how much fun and time I spend on GW2 $10 is a bargain.

The reason why they have only one time use on armor skins is because they feel this brings in the most money for them. If it does then they will continue to do so.

If your point is that they should end up like the Zenith skins, I’ll lean towards agreement. It would be lovely to have fuller use of purchased skins.

If, however, you think you can’t ever reuse the skin at all, let me point you at transmutation stones (for under 80 gear) and transmutation crystals (for 80 gear). Even if the skin has become soul bound, you can use the stones and cheap white gear to convert it to account bound, then move it to another alt via more transmutation. It costs the stones, but not 800 gems worth (and stones come free for city completion).

If you just want to transfer it on the same alt, one quick transmute and you’ve got it on your upgraded gear.

Personally, I think the original poster is correct in that this item should not be a single use. I also thought it would be an account bound with unlimited use for all characters of that armor class, but alas it was not, so for now it sits in my bank until I hopefully het the armor level I need before applying the skin.

If ANET wants this to sell better, I believe that at the very least, it should be an unlimited use soulbound item. I think the “WTF?!!!” factor of finding out it’s only a single use will do more harm than good.

An unlimited use soulbound armor skin can be viewed as the same value as increasing a single character’s bag slots. I don’t think I would do another purchase like that unless it was unlimited soulbound. Because… If there were other armors in that class I liked that were available in the gem store, I could change appearance when I felt like, or better yet even do a mix’n’match.

I would like to buy my warrior the Phalanx armor, but he already has Brahams set. And since I dont need zerker stats twice I simply wont buy it.
If you ANet want more of my money, you have to change something.

Same goes for the unlimited gathering tools. There was the suggestion to put “raw tools” into the shop and sell the skins separately, usable like the finishers.
So each char still needs the tools, but you can use the skins you want.

We should also have the option to buy a single piece of the gemstore amor too instead of the whole set.

If you convert gold for gems right now, 800 will be like 56g. A full T3 set is 119g plus 6 Transmutation Stones, so you are complaining for nothing. Most of ppl can farm 56g in 2-4 days, and you’ll be using the armor for months.
