Starting Friday GW2 has had several discounted items available through gems, and while I did not purchase any I was very strongly considering having made a gem purchase. Now that I find out that there’s a bonus for purchasing gems in December I’m very glad that I did not. Had I made such a purchase I would feel incredibly frustrated. I would strongly suggest that this giveaway be made retroactive to those that had purchased gems within the last week of November as well so that those who made purchases during the Black Fourday weekend would also be included. Thank you for your concerns.

Alternatively, give bonuses every month for gem purchases. This month its a green backpack and a mini, in January its ???, February its something else…

I admit, I would appreciate this. It’s not necessary but would be a nice gesture to include all gems bought for the black friday sales. On the other hand, people who bought gems those days benefited from the sales, so….might be a wash.

(full disclosure—I purchased gems for the salvage o matic on saturday and again today for a bank tab. so I’m set on getting the backpack, iffy on getting the mini)

I am curious if this is going to be a regular thing. I enjoyed getting the dragonbash minis and kite for buying gems. Nice little perk for spending cash instead of converting from gold.

I like the idea of different bonuses every month for gem purchases. I would even suggest having a monthly mystery box. The box can cost, say, ~500-600 gems and you don’t know what the box will give you until the end of the month, when you are able to open it. Everyone who has purchased the mystery box will get the exact same item, whether it be a skin, mini, etc. I think it puts some fun and anticipation and would also encourage people to purchase gems, especially since the box could contain something you might really end up wanting. The items should probably be tradable, if possible.
