This content was released in September, I have missed somewhere around 20-30 days of killing it total in the last seven months.
zero ascended box
zero Tequatl skin box
one mini I could have bought in the bltc for 20g
one rare aqua breather
You could get the drop your first try, three years later, or never….rng.
My opinion from my experience, 1.5hours sitting around for a 15min fight that should atleast have a token system so you have something to work for.
I’ve done maybe 50 to 75 kills, and no Tequatl Hoard for me, while some have gotten 3 or 4 with maybe 200 kills. RNG is RNG. It keeps the item unique and rare. While it would benefit me to have a token system, overall I’d still be against it. I don’t want Teq weapons to be as common as dirt.
RNG is no excuse to put it in the gem shop. That would be pay to win.

Whoa now. That’s a slippery slope. We don’t want to get into another P2W debate here. :P
Skins will never be P2W. Obviously you’re misusing the term.
Don’t.

Pay to win is different for every game and person. If the goal of the game is too look pretty (like GW2, since vertical progression is basically non existant), then skins are indeed pay to win. The argument that pay to win is buying statistical advantages only, is old and busted.

Quoted for truth.
Itd be nice if the skins were sellable like the mini. I got the Teq hoard after doing teq only 10 times or less yet others have done 50+ and not gotten a single unique drop :S

And calling being pretty winning is honestly just ignorant… no one is winning anything because they bought a pretty skin. I’ve looked at every definition of the word win and winning online and in a paperback dictionary and NOWHERE does it say anything about being pretty… you don’t get an award, there’s no a net fashion show, its not attributed to finishing first by any matter of any logic… this is easily the most ridiculous argument I’ve seen on the forums the past couple months. If people have different definitions of winning then they definitely aren’t speaking English.
I have been doing Teq daily (sometime twice per day) for for the past 2-3 months now. I have:
0 Teq skin box
0 ascended box
1 rare aqua breather
3 minis

And you can kill Teq daily and not get a single one after a year.
This wouldn’t be a problem if the players didn’t complained so much when Laurels were introduced.
The idea there was having people working for the stuff instead of buying it all with gold they already had, I really liked it but a lot of players just went loud with “no new currency for new items” because hey, the least you have to do the better right?
If Teq had a token system when after X kills you’d have enough I’d do it because I like the skins.
This way I just got my achievements on the revamp week and didn’t went back to this day.

Never going to happen. Also:

It should stay as a Tequatl drop.
Ideally, like practically everything else in the game, it needs less RNG associated. I’d like a fragment system implemented, where every Teq kill you get a fragment, and you need X fragments for a Weapon. Of course, keeping it as a rare drop is fine in addition.

Desolation, Riverside and Baruch Bay are EU servers. My guess is Blackgate and TC for NA.

JQ kills him 2 times a day if you are on a US sever. 1PM and 5PM server time.
You’ll need to arrive 20 minutes early for the 1PM time slot and 90 minutes early for the 5PM slot if you want to get in.

Thanks. Will start showing up. Closest I have ever gotten to a kill was DCing @ 1% and then hearing everyone in guild chat cheering 5 seconds later. Put in a ticket because I was there for 2 hours and wanted my reward but got nothing.
I don’t have a problem buying the skins, I think they are really awesome and as the posts suggest nearly impossible to get through game content…
If Anet wants some more of my money, put them in the Black Lion Trading Co… wink
Why can’t we (players) have a open world event token system (1 kill/acct/per day)
30/40/60 tokens, buy the skin you want.
I think it should stay specific to Tequatl, but I would not mind a token system similar to how SAB worked.

lol pay2win what ? beauty contest… lol
Archeage = Farmville with PK

Well if it’s only the skins… although I guess we could call it P2W… still feels like stretching the term a bit, since I commonly associate P2W with a active gameplay advantage, were as a skin would be not all that advantages. Although doing so would devalue the skins that have been working to via Teq kills.
