Q:

I am starting to learn the noble art of flipping on the TP, and I am using a site a lot of you probably already know: gw2tp.net

Could somebody explain me the graph at the bottom of the page, about supply and demand?
The graph reads “sell count: X / buy count: Y”.
Example: http://www.gw2tp.net/items/36713-synergetic-assault-knight-power-core

What I do not understand, if the graph shows the items actually bought and sold, should that not always be equal? You cannot buy more items then there are on AH.

In general, would you say it is better or worse if the two lines are spread out apart on the graph?

A:

First of all, use gw2tp.com, not .net

The graph (on both websites) shows the amount of buy orders and sell listings at any given time of the item.

If the supply or the demand (the lines) is higher, doesnt really matter most of the time as it is easily manipulated by placing lots of 1 copper buy orders for example.

Whats interesting about the supply/demand graph, is how it changes over time, so you can make predictions on when its best to buy or sell an item. Some crafting mats for example are cheaper during the week and more expensive during weekend.

There is no external website that shows how much of an item actually sold within a given time period.

Thank you for your answer.

Why would you recommend gw2tp.com above gw2tp.net ?

To me those 2 sites look almost identical.
