Swords with particle effects.
That would be Firebringer. I prefer the non-fiery version which is named Honor of Humanity. Breath of Jormag is cheaper, it is also blue like Cobalt. Cheaper still, Lord Taeres’s Shadow which is purple/black. Going a bit further down is the Corrupted Blade, also bluish/white(requires shaders to be set to high). There is also the Super Adventure Box skins but those are only available when the box is around.
There is also the Fiery Dragon Sword skin but that requires GW1.
You can get Firebringer, Jormag’s Breath and Corrupted Blade for less if you craft them yourself. In the case of the Corrupted Blade that assumes you have lv400 weaponsmithing.
Particle effects are one thing, the sword’s skin is another. My guardian uses Cobalt not only because of the particle effects, but because it is one of the few nice, uncluttered, ‘slim’ blade GS’s around. Also the sword’s colour matches well with a blue-themed guardian.
I had Lord Taeres’s Shadow drop a few weeks ago, and immediately sold it because I found it very ugly. Not a big fan of Breath of Jormag for similar reasons, plus 50 corrupted lodestones are not cheap. If it was more sword-like and had less spiky bits, I would be more inclined to justify the 50 lodestones.
So my guardian uses Cane’s Justice, a nice, simple sword from a heart vendor in Harathi Hinterlands, and my ranger uses Bonetti’s Rapier.

Corrupted lodestones are quite cheap now, i made 3 of that sword when they still costed 1.60 g or whatever.
What i like is the torch effect of that sword
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Cane’s Justice is just the standard Krytan skin. The entire set of that is pretty nice if you are going for simple looking but still have some decorations.
If you do happen to want the Krytan skin you can also get them from the WvW weaponsmith vendor for just 7 Badge of Honor and you won’t have to use a crystal.

All I want is a plain normal (not like white quality) sword skin. One that isn’t like a shiv, and that isn’t unnecessarily pimped like the ones we qurrently have and crave.
Protector of righteousness and purger of corruption.
Personally, despite the profusion of new skins, i ended up going back to the AC weapons. The weapons themselves have a clean functional design, and the night time particle effect is one of my favourites in game.
They also make a great reminder if using day/night dependent food/sigils like http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Sigil_of_the_Night. When the sword stops glowing, switch to the daytime one. When the off-hand starts glowing again, switch back to the night sword.
