Trying to get the PvP leather coat style and that should be the male duelist look. I go buy a duelist jacket with an icon that matches the pvp set and its something different. Once the item was in my inventory the icon was different than icon in trading post. please fix this or add preview options to the trading post

A gigantic amount of icons don’t fit the weapon/armor, or are outright wrong, from the TP to even say, Ebon Vanguard weapons (they use the basic speargun icon for their gun and the Ebon dagger for the spear).

Unfortunately, I don’t see this being fixed for quite some time if ever since it’s not ‘game breaking’. Your best bet is to look up the weapon or armor you want outside of the game, and then try to look it up on TP as best you can using the PvE name of it and using filters. So your coat, you would be looking for armor, exotic rarity, level 70-80, “duelist”. That should bring up the duelist coat I believe you’re looking for (the model worn by the human male thief representative on character creation, I think?).

problem is i did that and it gave me a coat that was not the duelist model lol.

nvm im just a moron and was looking at the wrong coat. my only excuse would be sleep deprivation. close thread =)
