Type in Nomad on the trading post. You’ll see several recipes that gold. Click on a recipe and you’ll see that it actually cost silver. The trading post has been inaccurate for about a month on particular items. I hope this will be resolved soon.

This can happen a lot with items that were recently released, the various phoenix skins for example. The TP caches prices every so often to display, so if items are being listed quickly, and the prices drop with sufficient speed, the TP results cannot keep up and will start displaying wrong prices.

Another (unintended?) advantage will be that you have to play the game to see the actual prices. So it avoids heavy interference by proxy and autoscript traders during an item’s introduction period.

I think it’s Anet being lazy with updating. the game caches the prices, like Aidan said, but most items get updated prices every hour or so. I think the reason these new items’ cache isn’t being updated is because they aren’t included in the updating, which Anet probably has to add by hand, whereas items are added to the TP automatically when they are first sold. So the price you see is the first price it was listed for.
Just a theory. Would likely be better to fully automate it, but there could be some serious performance issues by doing it that way.

Heheh, the Ascended Nomad recipe I had was displayed as 200g till you clicked the listing, then it would say the lowest seller was around 20g, highest buyer 15g. ^^
