they make selling terrible for poor people. that’s it. people with tons of money probably don’t even notice, but if by luck you get a drop that costs 15g you will have to get only like 12g. thats sad.

Yes, it’s sad. However it’s a much needed, and valuable gold sink. Without such a tax (or fee) gold would become almost worthless, as there would be far too much in-game.

Moral to the story, always keep enough coin so you can post a lucky drop onto the TP.

Players including myself have suggested “TP loans” where if you don’t have the coin and choosing high bid for the price it would be free to post but then you only see 80% of the listed price. But it can be gamed so …
