I have a concern about a cosmetic item from the BLTC (BlackLion Trading Co.)
I recently purchast the “Designer Hoodie” (Town Cloths) for 400???? Gems…
…while the “Casual Hoodie” (noticed it after) only costs 200????!

They are the same thing other than the pattern on it which is hardly eligible for being charged twice the ???? Gems for it! I would argue!

I feel like this is a rip-off, sort of like buying a T for $5 or one just the same but “designer marked” for $50…

I don’t want my Gems back or being compensated in any way for it, i JUST WANT IT REMOVED, or redesigned with more visual difference other than patterns, so that no other person will fall for it!
Claiming the game to be as artistic as it is, you guys should have had more imagination designing that Hoodie!

Ps: The choices in cosmetic gear in the BLTC is terrible, there are no diversitys, no products what so ever to choose from.. I feel like if i want to change my look, i HAVE to buy one of one items to doit, looking just like another player who didn’t have a choice!

That’s pretty much what this is. And like the expensive shirts IRL, some people choose to buy it because it’s “designer”. I’m sorry you didn’t see the cheaper ones before you coughed up some gems for it, but your buyer’s remorse is not their fault.

While I am sorry that you feel ripped off you must realize that nobody forced you to buy anything. Maybe thrift store shopping would’ve worked out better?

no, not really. imo you’re too used to the absurd “consumer protection” culture.

The prices were clearly displayed with no cover-up intended.
You did fail to look at the price tag before purchase; it was your mistake and it is irresponsible to blame it on another.

I’m not complaining. Dyes also have different prices don’t they? Some people pay extra just to look different from the others. If you can’t afford it, expose yourself in the 200 Gems vest of mediocrity!

Yes, and if there was a super-designer hoodie for 800 gems…some people would buy it only to be in a smaller group, visually-speaking.

Personally, I feel the OP has a point with regard to how trivially the two items are differentiated. I realize it takes time for their artists to make this stuff, but if one is potentially paying real $, they probably should encourage their artists and modelers to up the visual aspects of higher-priced, similar items beyond a simple pattern or color change. Dyes are just colors, these are supposed to be clothes, which could easily be spiffied up in many different ways if only to encourage more people to splurge. Seems a tiny bit self-defeating, actually.

I got the designer hoodie because it’s more exclusive knowing less people would have it. I try to maintain a truly unique looking character.

Your own screenshot invalidates your argument that you were cheated. You can clearly see both items and their respective prices at the same time on your screen. They did not hide the cheaper item from you nor did they change the prices after you bought them.

I wear nothing but the dyed pink Halloween witch hat on my norn female and I’m pretty happy. No need to spend on town clothes you wear 1% of the time you play.

Just to mention for me I spend about 30% of my time in town clothes. I swap to them any time I am just running from place to place and when I hang out in towns. I really like them

Not the least disturbing. You should have looked more carefully and not blindly clicked purchase. When I purchase anything from the Gem Store I look at the item/description/price for a few minutes before I click anything.

I’m more annoyed by the fact that “town clothing” is useless. Come on, let us mix and match it with armor already and use it in combat. What happened to GW1’s costume slots and spectacles helmets?

Do you only buy things that are displayed on a store window or do you go in and check out what else they have?
