Crown Pavilion Royal Terrace perma pass.

So far we’ve only ever seen this for one single day. A lot of people who would have gotten it were not online for that day and thus did not get it.

The layout is a lot better than the airship, so even with the airship up it should still attract a lot of buyers. I definitely won’t ever spring for an airship pass, since after trying it out, the layout is kinda crummy, but I would pick up a Crown Pavilion Royal Terrace perma pass in a heartbeat and I know I’m not the only one.

I want a crown pavilion pass sooooo badly. even a one-day pass would be good enough. kitten up and take my gems! want. to. buy. those. recipes.

So you’d still purchase a Royal Terrace pass over the Airship even though the Airship has more services (Activity NPC and Black Lion Weapon Merchant, from what I hear), purely out of layout and aesthetic considerations?

Also, I believe the Royal Terrace pass saves two loading screens upon logging in if you had logged out while in there that you would have to endure for the Airship.

• If you log out while in the Terrace, upon logging in you are booted out to just on the other side of the gate and you can re-enter immediately.

• If you log out while in the Airship, upon logging in you are booted back down to Vigil Keep which is a full loading screen. You must then activate the pass again and have to sit through another full loading screen just to get back into the Airship. Not very convenient.

I can see this lack of additional loading screens (due to how they’ve poorly implemented the passes) for the Royal Terrace as being beneficial to those who like to limit how many loading screens they are forced to endure just to access this “convenience” location. Perhaps fewer services is worth it to many, especially if they do not have need for those two missing services but for rare occasions.

Personally, I have no need for either of these locations. In fact, the dozens of one-time use airship passes that dropped from LA bags will most likely sit on a mule and never even get used. :\

I would love a Royal Terrace Pass.
I am one of those people who missed it.

I bought a two week pass for the Ship and I used it, but I consider DR my home on all my characters so it just makes more sense to me.
the one day airship passes I have will probably not get used at all

The BLWS is a free waypoint away in DR. And before the airship, the daily activity NPC was always a gate away in LA.

I bought the airship pass but I think I would get a Royal Terrace Pass as well if they were to be offered on sale. If they are at a discounted price, even better. DR is my favourite place and I was disappointed that I left it too late to buy one when they went on sale before.

Absolutely. The layout is MUCH MUCH MUCH better, and despite the fact that DR mapchat is… well, DR mapchat, at least it’s active compared to Gendarran. Plus when I exit the Terrace, at least I’m in a city and not in a map full of angry horse people and lake pirates. The Black lion merchant is rarely used by any given player, so there’s no harm in going out of the way for it on the rare occasion I have a ticket to get something.

I have both this pass and the airship pass. The loading screens on the airship pass really bug the kitten out of me.

It’s on the launcher. It’s on the web site. There have been multiple threads about it with one tracking the items on a daily basis, updated soon after the item goes up.

They did announce it. It was their “black friday sale”. Friday/saturday/sunday after US Thanksgiving, ]they had a different item each day. We didn’t know what they were goign to be but we knew it was happening. I and a lot of other people just had things other than guild wars to do on thanksgiving weekend.

Thought you were complaining about not knowing about the March sales.

As for the original lifetime Royal Pass, yeah, it and two other items went up for sale, one day each, the first weekend in January. But I make it a habit to check the Gem Store promotions every time I log in to see what’s going away. Saw the pass, saw it was account bound and snapped it up.

I swore there was a mention in the News section but it’s not there now.

There was never much indication there were going to be NEW items up for sale. I never paid the sale much mind because I didn’t need any old or current items that they could have put on sale. Hell I even vaguely remember seeing royal passes in the store but assumed they were the old temporary ones, since it was announced as a weekend SALE, not completely new inventory. Really dumb having this “sale” and then in fine print: “oh by the way, we also threw in a completely new rare item which may never be released ever again. Hope you notice in 24 hours.”
