They told me, they were true.
I came, i saw and i almost wept.
The beauty of the city i saw before me, the days it had suffered, the days it had seen.
I came from far away.
Never before had my feet trod those streets.
Those first feelings as they did,
never again will they.
To me this was a city alive and people who lived within her.
My city i hoped,
My city i would protect,
My world i would live by.
