Tormented Weapons Feedback Thread
Ummmmmm, wat? Minus the weapons that didn’t exist in GW1, how are they inferior looking? They’re the same skin with some glossy finsih to them? Only the Shield no longer looks it’s made of purple plexi-glass.
The Axe, Sword, Dagger, Hammer… these are looking straight out of GW1 to me. Or am I missing something here?
Does the addition of the tormented weapons hint towards the opening of a new world?
Earning the Tormented weapons meant a lot to me in GW1 and now here they are in the cash shop.
(edited by Fernling.1729)
Hmm, GW1 I farmed UW and bought tormented weapons for ecto.
But you did it wrong. The whole point of having any at all was to complete the DoA experience.
People don’t want “virtual store: the game” we want these adventures under our belt.
And lots of us course have tormented weps in the Hall of Monuments and of course we don’t get anything out of these new skins. It is very silly.
I wouldn’t mind these weapons being offered through the cash shop if:
A) they were offered directly, rather than through rng/gambling
B) there new weapons were being added to the game as quickly as they’re being added to the cash shop.
For a game whose end-game is supposed to be all about collecting cosmetic items, I find it distasteful that most new cosmetic items are added to the cash shop. End-game is supposed to be about earning rewards, not plopping down a credit card.
Vote with your wallets, as long as people buy gems with real money this greedy behaviour will continue. Stop buying gems and there might be a chance they’ll change their ways, otherwise your complaints will do nothing.
I didn’t pay a cent after buying the game, they don’t deserve it. Such greed shouldn’t be rewarded.
That argument cuts both ways: how is wanting an endless supply of new stuff for free not greedy? Is ArenaNet greedy because they don’t give you free stuff, or are you greedy because you don’t want to pay for it?
New skins cost time and money to make. Funding them through the gem store can reasonably be considered a way to pay for that. GW2 already offers a lot of new content for no additional cost, so should everything that is added from now until forever, including new cosmetic items, cost nothing as well?
It’s easy enough to call other people “greedy” (or my personal favorite: “selfish”), but as the great Stuart Smalley reminds us: “When you point one finger, there are three fingers pointing back at you.”
Just sayin’
First of all I never said I want an endless supply of new stuff for free and you’re quite wrong there. No need to put words in my mouth.
Secondly I would have gladly paid for an expansion if they had the decency to release it just like they did for GW1 and all it’s expansion packs. I will pay when what I’m getting back is worth it.
Third, I don’t expect/want them to give me free stuff nor do I care about it. Only thing I care about is playing a good game which they ruined by focusing everything on the gem store.
Bottom Line:
There’s a difference between doing a dungeon and getting the necessary items for a weapon (also known as: Working For It). – They won’t make money off that.
and
Opening Chests till you hit the jackpot or grind till you get the amount of gold. – They will make money off that.
All these “living” stories, exclusive items, new dungeons. With all these resources they could have made a nice expansion pack, I wouldn’t have cared how much it costs (within a reasonable amount), I would have bought it because what I was going to get is PERMANENT not some lame temporary time bombed content which barely makes any sense.

The hammer and staff look NOTHING like their GW2 version.
When I heard these skins were being added I was like I MUST HAVE HAMMER STAFF AND SHIELD!!1!1!1!1!1!
Now its… ok I’ll just get a shield.
The sword also looks nothing like its original counterpart.
Seriously though… the staff… how do you fail to copy a design this BADLY? Absolutely no resemblance. Massive facepalm to whoever failed this.
Also, gem store. Also, no hard content that slowly earn you rewards. Sad. #monetize, #gemstore2012-2018, #earnrewards?neverheardofit
PvP modes are the “endgame” in every MMO.
Stop failing at PvE, start fixing PvP/WvW. Thank you.
As someone who has put 0 hours into GW1, I am glad that you are not limiting yourselves. Do not listen to any one that says you must limit your designs in this game based upon a game you made years ago. Thank you for listening to the players of this game that wanted a design you created years ago. Please keep up the good work.
My point is, why just not make new skins like marjory and kasmeer lol.. I was already ok with the fact I wouldnt have my skins back with pve.. as a reward for doing the area where they were attached to
‘’ Tormented weapons for people that can afford it’’
Give the skins to the GW 1 players that got em in there HoM or remove the kitten…. imo . Else im pretty sure u will see alot of gw 1 veterans just leaving you and your precious gemstore to play games where they actualy care about there old players.
People like me who added a bunch of Tormented in gw 1 to the HoM being promest cool stuff in gw 2 is gonna be pretty kittened over your way of handeling this.
Zodiac weapons had no value in gw 1 not a big thing it was horribal to add em to black lion trading specialist of kittenness but to add tormented weapons to any 1 ?
Lets say like this … you reskinned the only good looking light armor ‘’ Flamekissed armor ’’ Cause it looked like Human T3 and any class could weild it how is this any diffrent?….
Giving out the end game weapons from gw 1 to every 1 but alot cheaper and not to the ppl that actualy alredy own em in there HoM.
If i remeber right you guys at Anet said ’’HoM would be rewarding in gw 2. But the kitten we got from it is just a slap in the face.
Add the Tormented Weapons and destroyer weapons to HoM. Its okey if the gw 2 players can earn em as well. But its not fair that gw 1 players should earn em twice when they were promise benefits from HoM… .. its a GW 1 type of ‘’Legendary weapons’’ they had the same status there as ur precious Legendary gear here in gw 2.
Or why not start selling all the legendary weapons at gem store or for black lion tickets and earn some real cash. Stop treating gw 1 players like crap there not gonna take a bullet for you hopefully they quit if you keep acting like this.
People don’t want “virtual store: the game” we want these adventures under our belt.
And lots of us course have tormented weps in the Hall of Monuments and of course we don’t get anything out of these new skins. It is very silly.
I agree with you no adventure, no mallyx no domain of anguish, just credit card yay ticket..
Seriously, this again? I thought they had learned from the Flamekissed uproar for recycling content and putting it in the cash shop, but I guess they really enjoy kittening off a minority and turning people away from the game for a quick cash grab.
“But the company needs to make money!”
- Yes, they do, but I wished they found a way to do it without creating controversy left and right. Compared to f2p games, GW2 already has an entry fee. However, it’s already getting close to Nexon levels of microtransactions, with all these BL Chests (reskinned Gacha) non-sense as of late.
“This isn’t GW1, veterans have no rights to complain!”
- Then stop recycling GW1 content into GW2. No one will complain if they make new content and put it into the cash shop, but rehashing stuff for lazy money grab WILL alienate the ones who supported ANet since GW1.
“You can get this from the TP if you don’t like pulling out your credit card!”
- And this is one of my biggest issues with GW2. Ever since Fractals, there hasn’t been endgame stuff where you actually EARN horizontal progression by doing something challenging, aka based on skill, not on mindless farming or working outside the game for it. Horizontal progression should mean the guy with the shiniest armor has earned it in-game, not the one with the highest paying job outside the game or the one running around 24/7 in Frostgorge.
“People asked for these skins!”
- Introduce them in a way that makes everyone happy. I don’t know, maybe revamp Domain of Anguish for GW2 so you can earn them through tokens? I don’t have other ideas, but at the very least don’t make it seem like the company is desperate for money. Putting recycled stuff up on the cash shop (and not for cheap!) loses my confidence in the developers’ ability to come up with new ideas. What happens when all the good old skins are exhausted?
I definitely commend on the guys developing the living story and all the new content we’ve been getting since the game started. Great job! But the ones monetizing the cash shop need to do a better job… never go full Nexon please.

I’m confused. Can you get any of the Torment Weapon Skins from the HoM?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Forum-Classes/first#post3577563
It seems the GW1 crowd wants everything exclusive to them.
Don’t you already have exclusive mini? A fire sword? Multiple titles?
What else do you want? Exclusive maps? Exclusive characters, skills? Exclusive armor?
Not sure if this is the right forum but…
Tormented weapons were one of the best skins in GW1 I reckon, and I can’t believe they’ve actually made a comeback! I am SOOOOOOO going to be spending a ton on these skins.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!
Edit: How come the tormented shield is so tiny? I previewed it on my charr and it’s so small. And the tormented weapons aren’t as dark as the ones in GW1. Seems they need a bit of polishing, but other than that I’m happy.
(edited by Zaoda.1653)
My Mesmer was decked out with a Tormented Staff in the first game and I loved it! Unfortunately, that was largely due to the feeling of actually having completed challenging content to collect what I needed to obtain it which created a sense of accomplishment. Sticking these in the gem store and gambling for them strips away all the meaning it had in the first game. Oh well, I probably wont actively try to get these since I already had the chance to experience having a Tormented weapon from the first game and I really don’t feel like grinding or gambling for something like this.
Wow some of you people are greedy. Tormented weps were already easily gotten with gold in GW1. No skill at all needed. You want them for free in GW2 because you bought them in GW1? Don’t make me laugh. Cheers for releasing these awesome skins as an updated version!
I am seriously teetering on the edge of peace-ing out entirely in GW2, and this shoves the balance heavily in favor of doing so.
As a caveat, I’m not a GW1 player or someone caught up in all the nostalgia or whatever. My beef comes purely as a player of an mmo. Once again, an update introduces a new set of skins that has no bearing on where our character is in the game and is not rewarding in the least. I got into GW2 under the impression from media and advertisements that it was not a vertically built MMO, and that the end-game point of this game was to customize your character and make yourself unique with skins and variations of the gear you have.
Yeah, I’m not seeing any of this. I hid the ‘endgame’ ages ago, and there is literally nothing like that. There is no new content or options for people that actually rewards playing the game. Its either pay out of pocket or pay with gold you can make by sitting statically in front of a trading post for a couple hours.
What the actual kitten? Why am I even playing this game? There’s what, two skins in this update that are actually gainable from playing the game, scarlett’s rifle and helmet? That’s it?? What bloody reward or incentive is there for sticking around and playing the game, what challenge is there, what real engaging gameplay is there that will give me a satisfying reward for my character? From last patch, there was again, two items? People say Guild Wars 2 isn’t pay to win because you can’t buy stats, but when the game is built around skins and that kind of progression as a measure of ‘success’ this is literally a pay to win model, even if it’s not the traditionally imagined kind.
And I put ‘success’ in quotes because there is no success entailed in any of these skins, only pocket money or playing the TP for a little bit. And no, I’m not poor, or whinging because I can’t afford it with $$ or gold. I easily can, but there’s a snowball’s chance in hell I’d waste it on something so massively unfulfilling.
Jesus, so they add a new set of weapons from Guild Wars 1 to incite some nostalgia or happy memories or whatever and all you people can think of is some way to complain. You “GW1 Veterans” that complain all the time about every single thing that Anet does are probably the worst part of this community. Good riddance to those who quit over such a inconsequential issue, no one wanted you here anyways.
[OHai] – Northern Shiverpeaks
To be fair, the weapon skins that get put up eventually are sell-able on the TP anyway.
Couldnt have said it any better naemyis. Exactly my thoughts. I am bored of everything nice being gem shop only
I really don’t get why everyone cries about the gem store. They do have to make money to keep the game going. If you want it trade your hard earned gold in for gems and purchase it. Your wallet isn’t out any money that way. The way I see it is I can pay to play aka WoW and get nothing for my money other than the priviledge to play the game I had to buy in the first place. Or.. Choose, or not choose, to buy gem cards. If I purchased $15 of gem cards every month I would be getting a lot more for my money than the priviledge to play the game I purchased. In either cases you are supporting their business. I choose guild wars game model.
This is a specious argument, as many other FTP games with cosmetics don’t use this model at all. I’d challenge anyone to find a FTP or pay once game that hasn’t released a single new armor/weapon set since release. People like to say this everytime someone complains about the only new armor and weapon sets added to the game since RELEASE being locked behind gems, saying ‘oh anet needs money since it’s a pay once game’. This is wrong. This is entirely wrong and provably wrong that a FTP (or pay once) game can sustain itself just fine on some premium armors, coupled with actually developing armor/weapon sets that are obtainable ingame as rewards for actually playing the kittening game you purchased
And please, before you list the random one-off gauntlets or helmets, those are not armor sets, people.
Jesus, so they add a new set of weapons from Guild Wars 1 to incite some nostalgia or happy memories or whatever and all you people can think of is some way to complain. I’m a GW1 vet and I agree. It’s sad to see so many cry over how it can be bought – well, you could buy it with ecto in GW1, there’s no difference. If anything, we should be frikkin happy they decided to give us some nostalgia with these skins. The more people cry, the more they’re not going to want to give us things from GW1.
If there was any constructive criticism for the skins however, it would be that they look a bit grey/dull. I think they would look AMAZING if they were darker, so the purple glow is more noticeable. Also I don’t know if it’s just on the charr, but the tormented shield is REALLY small. I will have to preview it on one of my human characters but as far as the charr goes, it’s really tiny on them.
I have no problems with these weapons being available through the shop, even if i would like a lot more good-looking skins achieveable through normal gameplay. What bugs me however is that those have absolutely no connection to the story at hand. Tormented weapons are strongly tied to Abaddon and his servants. Somehow, i haven’t noticed anything connected to that part of GW1 storyline recently. Putting them in the shop at the moment people were still debating what exactly Scarlet has unearthed (even if that question got answered very fast) can only be considered a troll move – and one in very bad taste.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
You “GW1 Veterans” that complain all the time about every single thing that Anet does are probably the worst part of this community.
I tend to agree with this at times. It gets a little old.
Thank you ANet for making those available, even if it is through tickets. I had 2 tickets ready and got me the Longbow and the Shield. Now give me Obby armor skin for my Ranger please and i’m quite happy.
I don’t understand why skins released don’t follow the theme of the living story. They’re completely random. On top of that anyone can gain these skins because of how easy it is to make gold in this game zerg train…
I’m expecting them to release obsidian sets for the low price of 800 gems
(edited by RoRo.8270)
Let me see if I have this argument straight.
The Guild Wars 1 players that linked their accounts with their Guild Wars 2 accounts and had the possibility of getting 30 items and several titles only available to them are now complaining that the creators of Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 decided to add armor skins from Guild Wars 1 into Guild Wars 2 through the gem shop.
One reason for the complaint is that Hall of Monuments didn’t give them exclusive rights to the new armor skins because they got them in game during their fun times in the original Guild Wars and feel it cheapens the accomplishment in the original game, even though the two are mutually exclusive.
The other argument is that they are in the gem shop, even though they could exchange gold for gems and never have to pay a dime.
Does that pretty well sum it up? Good. Then let’s tackle this one.
Argument #1: What possibly logic could you have for expecting these new skins to be available to you simply because you played both games? Were the rewards of linking accounts not good enough originally, and if not, why did you bother?
Argument #2: Oh no… ANet wants to make money!! Call the police!! And… as I said, gold to gems. No money down and nothing per month. Go play how you want, get gold, exchange gold for gems, buy the skins and be done with it.
I am completely amazed at how entitled some people get. Truly amazed.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Forum-Classes/first#post3577563
Another update and another set of weapon skins i won’t be getting.
Guess i should be satisfied with that 823462895th backpiece, better than shoulders, right?
Alright, as someone who has 50/50 in HoM, let me state my thoughts.
Argument #1: What possibly logic could you have for expecting these new skins to be available to you simply because you played both games? Were the rewards of linking accounts not good enough originally, and if not, why did you bother?
I don’t want them to be available for free for us either. But, please note that these skins were highly prestigious from one of the hardest endgame dungeons. Due to their prestige and importance in lore, why not polish them up better, tie them up to the lore, and make us all work for them in-game (maybe give a very slight advantage for those who played GW1). Ever since Fractals, horizontal progression has become “who has the most disposable cash” rather than “who has earned it in-game.”
Argument #2: Oh no… ANet wants to make money!! Call the police!! And… as I said, gold to gems. No money down and nothing per month. Go play how you want, get gold, exchange gold for gems, buy the skins and be done with it.

When people get angry, that is because they genuinely feel cheated, they don’t go of the way to find reasons. I’m not in agreement with the entitled sort who wishes these to be handed out for free just because they have 50/50 HoM, but there is a distinct difference between “Don’t like, don’t care, don’t buy.” and “Don’t like, quit the game because I feel cheated.” Putting one of the skins with highest prestige in the RNG cash shop, no matter how you look at it, is a cheap move.
The economics department probably figured the latter is a minority and they can still get good profits by catering to people like you right now. However, by following this model, a year later you’re the one who feels wronged for a similar reason and they lose another customer.
(edited by Welgaia.7523)
if you want challenge, you can grind crap from boars in queensdale. kill 10000 boars, sell loot and buy it.
Of all the GW nostalgia ANet could’ve invoked, they chose the Tormented weapons to gate behind the gem store instead of tying their rediscovery into ANY sort of story content whatsoever…
Even if you’re willing to accept the gem store as the sole outlet for every new item added to the game (which it is absurdly close to becoming) this implementation of a lore-related weapon set is just incredibly hard to accept.
Does lore even exist in this game anymore?
Where exactly did Evon Gnashblade pick up a hoarde of Tormented Weapons? The Domain of Anguish? I highly doubt it.
Is ANet truly going to hype up their Living Story as expanding upon the game’s lore at the same time they are completely disregarding any meaning behind their game world’s historic content?
I’m just about fed up with the mediocrity and greed spewing out of ANet’s studio.
if you want challenge, you can grind crap from boars in queensdale. kill 10000 boars, sell loot and buy it.
I’m guessing that’s sarcasm, and definitely hoping it is. It’s really concerning to hear the people that chime in saying “well if you want it via gameplay then go farm the same dungeon routes that everyone knows by heart or zerg a champ train”. Is that all GW2 is going to end up as? All new content is purchased by mindless farming?
I really don’t get a lot of these complaints; was this game supposed to have some sort of “Lore” that I didn’t know about? Was playing it with the sound off for the past year and a half a mistake? Also, what’s this “GW1” everyone keeps talking about, and what does it have to do with Guild Wars 2?
Well since i see a lot of people complaining about gw1 players and about our HoM what you guy’s seems to think super special
1;without us gw1 players there wouldnt even be a Gw2
2.HoM the skins you guy’s think that are so special they are a joke.
Prove of that like no one use them proves enough if someone use it.
It’s on a low lvl character.
2.The armors are really ugly and have HUGE clipping issue’s good example.
The shoulder when i tested them on my character they were not even on his body.
It was just floating around and you could see the space underneat it.
3.The skin design is very but really very bad of both the weapons and the armor.
4.The pets are cool for a ranger just to have in it’s collection.
5.The only things we really got more then people that didnt do anything HoM.
Is that little spot in shiverpeaks were you can see a little place were the HoM building is.And the titles.
Still the efford people putted into filling the HoM is really not worth what we got for it.
It Really isnt. Titles back then weren’t so easy to obtain like now getting the archievements it was a grind were you really needed to put a lot of time into it.
And when a person enters his HoM the first you dont see a thing of all the efford you putted into it’s former game everything is gone yes now i’m speaking about the special weapons like tormented weapons.
The all are gone the only thing that is still on that place are a bunch of broken rocks.
And then suddenly they are back afther 250years which make no sens.Specially because they had to do with abaddon.NOT scarlet. Remember people voted for the elen kiel thing not evon. So nothing has ever going around about abaddon here.
And to make it worse now all the efford we putted into beeing able to collect them to put them in that HoM is now a gamble game and if we want them again we AGAIN need to pay for them or put real money for gems to get something back we already had before. Tbh Remember the uproar about the light armor T3 human that got a recycle and putted into gemstore with a few flames on it and cheaper.
Well these tormented weapons were A LOT more expensive then that. It’s kinda normal we are kinda kittened off about this.
And the anser about what has gw1 to do with gw2 well the story continu afther the heroes of gw1 destroyed one of the dragon champions. Els it would have not beeing named GUILD WARS. But it would have an other name. If it didnt continu from an former version of it.
However, it’s already getting close to Nexon levels of microtransactions, with all these BL Chests (reskinned Gacha) non-sense as of late.
…
But the ones monetizing the cash shop need to do a better job… never go full Nexon please.
Its to late. The Monetization Producer (person in charge of the gem store) is none other than Chrystin Cox. She was forced down ANets throat when Nexon bought a large amount of shares in NCSoft stock as a way of protecting their investment. Chrystin Cox was the person responsible for the Maple Story cash shop, a Nexon product. If you don’t know what went on over there, then you should know that people were basically nickle and dimed to death in that game for progression.
When this lady was brought on board, several player unfriendly changes began happening. Things that we were told would never happen. Dyes became character based instead of account based (original idea was you unlock a dye, and every character you have or create after that will be able to use that dye), and things like dye packs started showing up. Bank slots suddenly turned into a buy to expand model. Same thing with inventory space, etc.
For those that never played GW1, Tormented Weapons were acquired through receiving gems from enemies in DoA (Domain of Anguish).
They were fairly expensive to buy and you needed 8(if I can remember correctly) to fill your Hall of Monuments.
Now, GW2 has capitalized on what was a semi-elite skin from GW1 by putting them in RNG BLC. Why…Why not create a fractal that you got tokens for them? Why not a dungeon(DOA????) to get them. Why not from the new Knight drops even as a rare chance?
Anet has done a good job of taking everything that I loved from GW1 and putting it in the Gemstore, instead of placing it is exciting, difficult content.
Am I the only one that feels like this?

pretty decent set but dagger is really boring/bleak and disappointing… was it so hard to add some glowy thing on top of the dagger or make blade glow? atm it looks just tiny bit better than lv 5 dagger :/

They are profiting off prestige.
Let’s say that one day GW3 comes out. Let’s also say that GW2 allowed prestigious weapon sets, like Legendary Weapons to be displayed in GW2’s HoM. GW3 comes out with a HoM rewards calculator just like GW2 did.
Everyone and their mothers ask for the GW2 legendary weapon skins that could be displayed in GW2’s HoM to be rewards for GW3.
ArenaNet doesn’t do that. Instead they take those legendary weapon models and sell them on GW3’s cash shop for 10 bucks each or behind an RNG box.
I don’t like it, they might as well grab ALL of the prestigious items from GW1 and slap a gemstore price on them. It’s similar to selling T3 cultural armor in the gemstore, both items were prestigious game items that were slapped on their store for profit.
Oh well, it doesn’t concern the people who never touched GW1 nor the people who never ran GW1’s DoA for them, GW1 veterans stopped being one of ArenaNet’s priorities a LONG, LOOOONG time ago. It’s okay, until GW2 prestige is affected judging by how quick the Flamekissed armor set was pulled and redesigned. I honestly want to see the outcry when Anet turns on legendary weapons and other, hard-earned weapon sets and profits off them in the gemstore. Until then, oh well right?
Let’s see which items will they sell next.. Oppressor’s weapons? Chaos gloves, obsidian/vabbian armors, and blindfolds? How about the HoM reward items themselves? I’ve seen suggestions of reskinning them and selling them in the gemstore, why not?
Also to add on to what I said, where did the tormented, destroyer’s, and oppressor’s weapons that I dedicated to my GW1 HoM go?
You can craft destroyer’s, great!
No sight of oppresor’s, okay?
OH wait, where did my tormented weapons go? Apparently the Black Lion Trading Company robbed them and hid them in their chests, great.
I’m saddened at how many players are whining over the tormented weapons in the sense that it’s another gemstore (black lion keys)/black lion ticket thing. To that I say – who cares, we’re frikkin lucky to get something from GW1 – it’s rare. Be grateful.
My only criticism for them would be that they are a bit grey/dull. In Gw1 they were quite dark – almost abyss dyed, which REALLY made the purple glow stand out and make it look epic. These are more light grey and reflective, which doesn’t accentuate the purple glowy bits. I think if they were darker, they would be a lot more appealing to players.
That’s all I have to really say on the matter. I’m just happy we’ve got tormented weapons in GW2 now
I don’t want them to be available for free for us either. But, please note that these skins were highly prestigious from one of the hardest endgame dungeons. Because people would them complain about the fact that they have to have to work or “grind” for the skins.

I can tell you this for sure. I will most likely never complain about any cosmetic item they put in the shop. I know that first and foremost, this game is run by a company that needs to make a profit. I’ll say it again, and bold and italicize what I just said. They need to make a profit. Cosmetic items would be one of the best ways for them to do it, especially if they can add new skins on a regular basis, new design or nostalgic design.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Forum-Classes/first#post3577563
I can’t believe how entitled people feel…so what if you have to spend money to get it. There are people who will try. This game provides a ridiculous amount of content for free…and you dont have to spend the money to play the game. It’s just an appearance thing.
Really kinda kittenty. I am fine with it like this.

I kind of get the feeling from you that you can only be “entitled” if you have the money to get what you want. All. The. Time.
And not having money garners a response along the lines of “you have no money? you have no right to complain.”
I’m glad that the Tormented weapons are now available in GW2. I always support there being more variety in choice for players.
That said, I can understand the complaints of the GW1 players though. (I played GW1 for 7 years too. Eventually got a free Tormented Weapon through the Wayfarer’s Reverie quest chain.) It would have been nice if perhaps ANet had given us a free Tormented Weapon as a nod to our HoM achievements, although I think that would just create more complaints about how there are now hundreds of players with Tormented Weapons.
Over all I feel like they did a good job with these weapons. I had the shield in GW1 and in GW2 I am not disappointed. I don’t like the ticket system because of the RNG boxes nonsense but it is what it is. You know what would be awesome? Getting a ticket for the meta or LS or something since these weapons are released at the same time. This would allow you to collect tickets over several stories and get the one you wanted as well. Just a thought.
I’m just glad they are sellable so I can get them from TP without the hassle of RNG black lion keys. I love the shield! At first I was worried, but they look a lot like the gw1 weapons. Kudos!
Torment weapons trivialized by being reduced to RNG/gemstore purchase.
The pit just gets deeper.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

I couldn’t agree more.
